Re: Oooh, a new Double Fine game!

Spiffy. Sounds like my kind of game. RPG mechanics in a normally non-RPG setting. Kinda reminds me of Earthbound, even.

Re: Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games I've ever played

Wow, for real? Is this game on the PSN yet? I'm just about ready for something new and now I think this might be it. Yep, it is on PSN. IX is easily one of the best FFs. It's my second favorite, next to VI. It's the last FF that had likable characters, a nice plot, and little to no pointless angst....

Re: Song of the moment

I just spent some time with a friend of mine who's visiting from Iowa. He sold his PSP right before SSH came out, so he never got a chance to listen to the redone music. Well, he has now!

Consequently, I'm on an Iwadare kick.

Re: Song of the moment

I'm currently listening to the new Arcade Fire album on the NPR iPhone app (I'm pretty sure that's the most hipster-esque statement ever put on the Internet.) Yeah, it would be difficult to top that one. Except maybe.. http://www.toothpastefordinner.com/052703/hunting-the-wild-hipster.gif I've been...

Have to ask- exactly how awesome was the scuba diving? (I've been snorkeling, but not scuba diving quite yet.) Did you get to see a lot of pretty fish and incredible coral formations?
More importantly, dolphins?

Congrats, welcome back, et cetera!

Re: PSP remake of Tactics Ogre

YAY! But at the same time...I'm done with remakes. This would have to be extremely better in every way. Otherwise I'll pass... I think just a new translation would count as extremely better. I dunno how long it's been since you played the original, but it's pretty rough. Almost as bad as the origin...

Re: Inception

I thought the movie went downhill once they entered the dream and suddenly they were being gunned down. I'm not the biggest fan of action movies, so honestly, it makes sense why I didn't like it past that point. I very much agree. I would have liked the movie much more if it didn't turn into a pred...

Re: Inception

Eh, I thought it was pretty good, but not great. They gave away too much in the first half of the movie, because I saw the rest coming. Including the ending with the top.

All in all, I thought Paprika was a better movie.

Edit: Actually, I have one more thing to contribute: http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=859 . Man, first a Pavement lyric and now a Questionable Content webcomic. Am I becoming a hipster? I hate to break it to you, but you might be a hipster. Kinda reminds me the last time I flew. There ...

PSP remake of Tactics Ogre

I can't wait. Also this and this.

Manly tears of joy.

My brother somehow snagged me a copy of the original US release (PSX) for my birthday a couple years ago. I never did finish it. Amazing game, but I got stuck or something. I have some motivation now.

Re: Valkyria Chronicles II

Aren't they supposed to be played NOT plugged into an outlet? Three words. Sega Game Gear. Six AAs, fourish hours of gameplay. My parents didn't care to pay for nonstop batteries, so I got an AC adapter, and that was that. Maybe it's just because it's black, horizontal, and not Nintendo, but I've a...

Re: Messed up keyboard

Might be because I live in a college town with a lot of spoiled rich kids. I just assumed every Best Buy was like that, my bad.

Come to think of it, the Best Buy back home had a lot better deals on games and stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if they had cheaper keyboards too.

Re: Messed up keyboard

If nothing else, you could get a new one. PS/2 and USB keyboards aren't proprietary so you can just grab a cheap one from like a Wal-Mart or a Best Buy or any local computer parts supplier. if i dont get Q to Y back, i'll pobably pick up a new one. I have to wait un till i get to town first, it's 4...

Eh, it should still be fine, though. Keyboards are pretty stupid peripherals. (That is, they're simple.) Just leave it unplugged and upside down for a while longer.

Re: Valkyria Chronicles II

I started using the mid-battle save feature when I got tired of dying 3/4 way through an hour long battle and having to start over. It was just that one battle, but still. PSP battery life is terrible. It's all UMD's fault. Optical media on a portable? What was Sony smoking?! Moving parts suck batte...

Re: Valkyria Chronicles II

I wish VC 2 was on PS3, even if the game is still up to par on a handheld. It shocked me a little bit when they first announced it. Totally was not expecting a sequel to VC....let alone for PSP. I guess we'll just have to wait for VC 3 to be announced....then maybe we'll get our console VC back. :m...

Re: Dragon Quest IX

I believe this (IX) was localized by Nintendo of America rather than via Square Enix or any sort of subcontractor. I wasn't aware of who localized VIII. Also did you ever play the GameBoy Color remake of I and II? It really lacks the same charm without the olde English. Also, NES 3 and 4 don't have...
