Re: Updates on Voice Actors? (English)

It's listed here in the thread about miscellaneous changes. Apparently, there's a new monologue that reveals his origins.

Re: Updates on Voice Actors? (English)

I think it's pretty rude of Victor Ireland to have expected all the original actors and actresses to have stuck with him exclusively and to suggest that Jenny Stigile should be "ashamed" for "breaking rank".

Re: Overly formal language is overly formal...

Eh, to me, the way the sections with voice acting are set up in Lunar has pretty much always caused a lack of properly conversational language. They're made for rigidity. I mean, most of the time, you run into someone who ends up talking at you and sometimes even responds to himself/herself without ...

Re: Website is up and its contents.

I actually like all the voices so far, at least in terms of intonation. Obviously, we need to hear a bit more to judge them, but I think people are being a bit overly negative about them. Sure, they're not what you're used to, but that doesn't make the acting bad, nor can you sit there and listen to...

Re: XSeed's new localization

... Me personally? For convenience mixed with appearance, I might select something like Myriad since it looks pretty good even when condensed, which some games have to do when presented with a long item name. If I had to go with a serif, maybe something like Palatino since it's round and open, which...

Re: XSeed's new localization

I'd prefer an established font to something that's novel and "interesting" or whatever. I'd like something that will still look good several years down the road to something that might seem cool now but will be easily placed as a 2000s fad font somewhere down the road. At any rate, I think...

Re: Updates on Voice Actors? (English)

... Why is everyone so afraid of the cast? I know people have fond memories of the original game and the earlier remakes, but geez, it's not like the old cast consisted of gods who descended from the heavens to bestow upon us the most beautiful voices ever heard. Most of them were pretty mediocre, i...

I'm just really glad they've restated their intent to release the game after the fiasco with Arc Rise Fantasia.

Re: Note to XSEED

Eh, yeah, I imagine those rumored release dates are incorrect, particularly since XSEED has been taking on way too much lately. Like, Arc Rise Fantasia was supposed to come out in November, and then they decided they couldn't even get around to it at all and passed the project off to a different com...

Re: Note to XSEED

Not to mention that since there's not even a website or solid release date yet, there's not much point in advertising. Why try to build hype several months before the release when it'll inevitably die pretty quickly unless it's sustained, which would entail costs that I doubt XSEED would want to squ...

Re: Victor Ireland + Sunsoft = Profit?

Which is why I never bothered with Ultimate Weapons in Final Fantasy 7. If something has a million or multi-million hit-points then I sure as hell don't want to waste my life trying to kill it. There's nothing fun about being on the verge of death during an extremely long battle and just barely sur...

I won't make fun of someone directly or indirectly for liking it though.

Uh, clearly you will if you enjoy trolling about it. But whatever.

Re: Just got Tales of Symphonia 2. A rant.

I was referring to the Tales series with that comment, not every Gaiden ever to exist. Then, as I said, you can make that argument to an extent, but you're still incorrect on several fronts. Tales of the Tempest has no story/character connections to previous games, nor do Tales of Tactics, Tales of...

Re: Will Xseed dub the songs or just subtitle them?

The last game that had a singing protagonist as a part of the story, going from memory, is Final Fantasy X-2, I think. That game had its songs redone, too. Almost all of the songs from games that I can think of that haven't been dubbed haven't really been part of the storyline -- they're played in ...

Re: This Game Can Kiss My Ass.

The best thing about Lunar was that it WASN'T Final Fantasy. Lunar HAD a story, Lunar IS a canon. It is a world, with a history and a mythology and a lore. It is a land with an already established story of events which have been set in stone. Uh, haven't the creators said before that the different ...

Re: Just got Tales of Symphonia 2. A rant.

I'm saying that all the motherships beat the gaidens in these areas as well. The Gaiden's are nothing more than fanservice in every way. No, they're really not all about fanservice. You might be able to argue that to an extent with the Tales series since so much of what they do entails crossovers (...

Re: Just got Tales of Symphonia 2. A rant.

I'm not saying that all Gaidens are necessarily bad games. Just that they're not great either, and always inferior to a mothership title. The point is that your assessment of "inferior" seems to always rest on scope of gameplay, game length, etc., which isn't necessarily the focus of any ...
