Re: The Grindery is Real
The next TTRPG campaign I plan to run is an entire waterworld where ocean/ship travel is the central mechanic of the world. I am absolutely using a lot of this information...

Re: Lunar Remastered!
Poor Mickey and Kiz have to update Lunar-Net now. I picture them both coming out of their slumber like Quark... "You are the first visitors in a long time..." I had literally three other major things going on at the same time last night and sandwiched a quick update in the middle. So litt...

Lunar Remastered! Coming Spring 2025 on the PS5!
Just announced today: https://blog.playstation.com/2024/09/24/lunar-remastered-collection-launches-on-ps5-and-ps4-spring-2025/ The Lunar Remastered collection is a remaster of the (presumably Playstation version of the) main two games: Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue Complete. English, Japanese, ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Ok it's *extremely* late to when I said I'd do this, but I finally started and finished Celeste last week (only the main storyline, plus one B side so far). It's as incredible as I thought. I'm also kind of glad I waited a bit because the game and meaning hit so much harder after starting to transit...

Re: The Grindery is Real
The only reason I knew anything about these is that ages ago our DM put them in a DnD campaign during an actual siege (we were on the defending side). Though this was... after the Lord of the Rings trilogy had been released (did they have siege towers or am I misremembering?) Regardless it's pretty ...

Re: New Lunar 2 Demo VHS?
Plus we have *scant* information on the actual tape. It just... is around. It's an educated guess as to when/how it was used.

Just commenting that this is so incredible! I have so few posters and I think the ones I do have aren't in great shape.

Re: Finally playing on Android
Honestly though, I got the impression Quark was gonna address everyone one at a time, but Ramus spoke up about the Dragon Diamond thinking back put the trial forward. Luna as you said though grabbed his attention first though thinking about it, but wasn't that true in the original game too? This wa...

Re: Game Arts trademarked "Lunar"
Full agreement on liking the Magic Experience system in the Sega CD Lunar 2. I think the main reason it gets a bad reputation is that it was also used to impose a cost on saving anywhere, but if you just remove that (like in the Japanese version) then there's no issue and it becomes a far more inter...

Re: Game Arts trademarked "Lunar"
I'll admit I do not have time to look more into this, so this is just an educated guess... But this seems like generally a good thing? Clarifying the trademark means it's at least possible for someone to release anything else Lunar-related (whereas while it's ambiguous -- like I think is the case in...

Welcome back! Always good to see folks return and post a bit, no matter how long a gap (or how sporadic they post as is my case...)

Re: Classic RPG Vay remastered is coming
At last! We'll get to play as Heiberger again!
From what I recall the Vay mobile version hews closer to the original dialog (for better or worse, it wasn't necessarily a groundbreaking story). Been at least 15 years since I played either the English or Japanese version of Vay however.

Re: Dyne’s monument secret chest
I feel like I vaguely remember seeing this but completely forgot about it.
But nope, definitely a chest. ...I wonder if anyone's gone into the game data to figure out if it's an actual chest (instead of just the sprite image) and what it contains?

Welcome back!
Because of so many things happening, I barely have time to jump in here like once a month (apart from just reading comments) but I'd love for things to get more active. Especially as... most other social media, and even Discord, is pretty draining for me.

Haha awesome! Congrats on the game release and this is a fantastic plug, both for the game and getting in a little Lunar 2 reference.

Re: Lunar's Magic System
Lunar seems to mix together several elements for magic's origins: - Magic exists as a general entity/force throughout the world. Evidenced by: between TSS and EB, Althena's power was spread throughout the world and magic more ubiquitous by EB's time; around Zophar's corporeal return all the magic wa...

Re: A Question regarding The Main Antagonist (SPOILERS)
I mean... oddly enough this is a very common trope in anime/JRPGs, so it's surprising that this was never hinted at in Lunar as something that happened. The revival just... happened. Since the intro post is tagged as spoiler I'll continue in normal text. So EB/EBC imply that Zophar returned himself,...

Re: 5 Princes of the Black Star
Sometime in the next year I'd love to do a replay through all of Lunar from start-to-finish, I think it's been at least 8 years since I last played a Lunar game. Also even now my Japanese is far better than it was the last time I played any of the Japanese games. (Still remembering how in the time b...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Well I've been getting some older games to go through lately: Castlevania (NES), SimCity (SNES), Rescue Rangers (NES), etc. But I think it's finally time to go through Celeste as it's been on my list for ages. Also, Venba and Thirsty Suitors are out and I haven't yet had time to play either, really ...
