Re: Lunar Silver Star Magazine Advertisement SEGA CD Exclusive
Oh this matches the one we have here: https://lunar-net.com/tss/artwork/promo-tss10.jpg (in https://lunar-net.com/tss/artwork.php) This is always great to see! Where'd you find this one? I believe the one we have is a scan from GamePro, but I recall this ad ran in a lot of the gaming magazines way b...

Re: Request for Ordered Music List
However, as I worked on reviewing all the tracks, it quickly became clear that LunarNET's list was far from accurate with regard to music, SFX, etc. And beyond that there are a lot of judgment calls about what amount of voice is acceptable and how much is too much to include in the collection, and ...

Re: What Are These Tracks From?
Unfortunately my memory is a little rusty with audio and it's really hard for me also to place these. I can only get two of them clearly. For 27 / Unknown, I am equally stumped. I cannot place this *at all*. For 52 / Relax, I also can't place where this is played in game (especially the first time)....

I already nerded out over this elsewhere, but it's REALLY AWESOME you also captured the interviews and music video at the end! So much 90s JPop goodness.

Re: This upcoming movie has a hilariously bad knockoff Grindery
Ok I'm reviving this because right now, for some reason, I really want to watch this movie. I've been watching scattered clips and it's so over-the-top that it looks delightfully absurd. This would've been such a fun "it's bad but it's good" movie to have seen, were it not for $15 tickets ...

Re: Book of the Moment
One of the last events I went to before lockdowns/social distancing was with Lesley Nneka Arimah, author of What It Means When a Man Falls From the Sky (https://bookshop.org/books/what-it-means-when-a-man-falls-from-the-sky-stories/9780735211032). I picked up a signed copy while I was there. Arimah ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Finally finished Journey (for the first time) weekend before last. I also had one of the most unique experiences that could only be had in a game like Journey. I played the first 2/3rds through one weekend, and picked it up the next, but sort of lost some skill at the controls. I finally joined up w...

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons
So... how many of y'all are naming your islands Vane?
...or even Ien/Iyen?
For real if I played then I might go the Ien route and try to have MSL-themed decorations, for all the three people who might still catch that reference.

Oh... I'm not playing Animal Crossing myself (not my thing but I really enjoy watching others play it), this is just perfect. Those outfits are seriously amazing. KF

Re: Hello Lunar Crew
Welcome! Yeah the... ship for a true "Lunar 3" sailed long ago. Magical School Lunar is fun (encounter rate aside), but after Dragon Song, I... kind of have come to terms with letting the series conclude. BTW would not mind seeing/hearing more about vintage games! I have a love of older te...

Re: MAGIUS - Magic School LUNAR! RPG
For real it might seem expensive but that is not a bad price... This was pretty impossible for me to find while I was actually living in Japan and looking through dozens-to-hundreds of bookstores, and Alun happening on one is the only way I was able to get it. I skimmed through the system a while ag...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Sayonara Wild Hearts... Just picked this up a couple days ago. Sayonara Wild Hearts is such a beautiful game. It's not quite an arcade game, not quite a rhythm game, but you play through a pop/synthwave soundtrack through cyberpunk-style tracks, everything fitted perfectly to the music, weaving in z...

Re: Japanese name/reference for Magic Tester?
I know of a reference in TSS, and which is retained in English. The Vane Magic School honor roll is made up of references to TV witch characters. Westerners may recognize Samantha of Bewitched, which was a hit in Japan and a forerunner to the magical girl genre. Most of the others are the title cha...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]
As for those text formatting glitches I mentioned? They lead to some fun stuff, like this video where the girls start threatening the player instead of saying what they're meant to say. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEwmeuKzd4M ...that got dark very fast. ...actually I'm wondering the same thing. ...

Re: Japanese name/reference for Magic Tester?
Say come to think of it... Is this the first Japanese pop-culture reference used in a Lunar game that anyone has found? The pop-culture references in the English version are pretty well-known (...and at times infamous), but just through the dialog. And, playing through all of the games in Japanese, ...
