Re: Eternal Blue strategy guide from a GamePro scans
Alun, one day I will find someone who loves Sieg/Phantom and his wicked gunslinging as much as I do! Growing up, I thought he was the coolest character outside of Ghaleon. It's an odd appearance, but I like having the Star Dragon in the story earlier so that the Epilogue feels like a resolution to t...

Re: If Lunar 2 came out for Vita...
You're conflating two unrelated things, possibly just from picking the wrong word. Do you mean localized? Because the original Japanese scripts for SSSC, Lunar Legend, and SSH are mostly identical (each has scenes exclusive to that game, but the rest of it is the same), but were translated/localize...

Re: Eternal Blue strategy guide from a GamePro scans
Great archaeological work there! It's also a great snapshot of everything that's wrong with the bungled EB remake, by virtue of how perfectly it's done here. Here in these pages, you have laid out before you: Probably the best last boss sequence of any game, from strategy to actual boss appearance (...

Re: Lunar Rewrite for and by the Fan Community
(Though I don't know that I'd call the adjustments to Harmony "sad"... I found the effort of rearranging and recording the music and redoing all the maps interesting. Not often Temzin says something I disagree with.) Oh hey! I knew I should have put some "new reply" notification...

Re: Lunar Rewrite for and by the Fan Community
Read carefully---not one of my points is refutable, and faith won't cut it if you're looking at another company's property. Shigema wrote the script, by the way, but is not and was not a Game Arts employee. Nothing was lost and no copyright transferred--the remains of Game Arts merely operate under ...

Re: Lunar Rewrite for and by the Fan Community
At this rate when I am finished with my materials I plan to submit them here at Lunar NET to the Fan Community for editing and review and then, hopefully, go to Gaijinworks to see if they are interested. Failing that I can go to a company that buys up IP and simply purchase the copyrights, Jesus wi...

Outstanding inscription! Too bad about the "Kevin" part, though---I don't expect too many people would dig another person's inscription that much, and I'd feel odd about getting rid of it if I were the seller.

Re: Lunar EB Section: Upgraded!
More fantastic work! By the way, I'm due for a replay, but I cannot recall Ghaleon being referred to as "Dragonmaster" in the Mega CD version of the game itself. In the remake, it's quite explicit, of course, and they got to do what Shigema talks about having originally planned in the Luna...

Re: Lunar TSS Section: Upgraded!
Brilliant work, Kiz! Loved the character section, and the in-game animation screenshots reminded me of some of the raw 1992 charm of the (slightly off-model) art direction. You guys can thank me later. And why, pray tell? I seem to recall that your "gathering of information" consisted of a...

Re: Blue Spire Non-Exsistant? (now contains spoilers topic g
less defensible was my theory that the Sunken Tower in EB's epilogue started out as the Saith Lighthouse, but since both of those were removed from the remakes there's even less to go on with that. Ha! Alun, I knew we were always on the same page. That had been a pet theory of mine in pre-EB remake...

Re: Alex And Hiro
I loved what they did for Arhes/Alex in the remake and think it reflected an intelligent evolution in the way RPG protagonists were being handled by that time. Alun rightly mentions Chrono, though he was actually one of the few silent protagonists who actually struck me as still having a lot of pers...

Re: Lunar Timeline - Please help!
Your memories are correct indeed! Nowhere in any Japanese packaging is 1000 years mentioned, nor in any version of Eternal Blue itself, in my recollection. Weird as the artbook ages for everyone are, without looking at it (just as well, as I've left it in another country) I can still recall that yes...

Re: Lunar~EB on Toasty Frog's Sega Retrospective
Always nice to stop in! That's a great and interesting point about Parish---one of the haiku writers, no less? Fantastic. I remember the goofy energy of the WDMB, too, but I must not have been around enough to notice it was him, or perhaps I wasn't paying attention (more likely) despite having loved...

Lunar~EB on Toasty Frog's Sega Retrospective
Hi everyone, making a rare reappearance in these Lunar-starved times (the fire in my heart always burns brightly, however!) to note that venerable New Games Journalist Jeremy Parish has posted a nice look back on Lunar~EB as part of the Mega Drive retrospective in the latest issue of his internet ma...

Ha, and she's even posted new translations out of the Lunar I&II Setteishiryoushuu, outstanding! Unless those were just update dates, but all the same, it's more than I remember being there...! How nice to see a refuge of the Internet of Olde still around, artisanal html sites and all.

Re: Lunar I & II Artbook scans
I got an extra one to take apart, scan for my own reference, and put in a binder with page protectors so I could intersperse printouts of the translations Temzin and others have done here and see them in context. Haven't gotten around to doing it yet, though. Dedication! Most impressive. Let's see,...

Re: Lunarthreads, dying?
This would probably be the right time to pop in and say hello. It's what people say above...my love for Lunar never dimmed since I was 12 with my Mega CD in hand, it's just that the very occasional nature of Lunar (er, or Game Arts, period, for that matter) releases brings some of us around only eve...

Re: "Lunar Makes Its Way To iOS Devices Out West"
Less virtual d-pad, maybe more "doing a touch scheme that works better." Attempting to have a touch interface is not a crime by any means, though clunkiness is regardless of how difficult it was to be the pioneer RPG. Oh, the "ancient Mega CD" bit was just referring to the Vay po...

Re: "Lunar Makes Its Way To iOS Devices Out West"
Oh, that's all there is to it, really, though I think Parish probably makes good points about touch control problems, too. This is just the ancient Mega CD game dumped onto an iphone, so no particular problem there on a technical level, but then, there's not a lot to praise about a company's ability...
