Start the game.
Pick "Epilogue".
Play.

It's not exactly complicated. KF

No, but it was interesting to see that the developers considered the Epilogue a surprise in EB, and wanted to see how many players actually "found" it. I think one of the interviews in the I+II artbook says that according to the comment cards they received from the fans about 80% of the players found it. Maybe it was less obvious in the Japanese game.

Well, some folks after they beat the normal game, figured "Aww, it's over" turned it off, and put it into their collection. It took me about a day or two to realize there was an epilouge. I remember beating it on a school night, and thinking the next day "Man, how could they end it like that, there's gotta be more to it." Later that day, I turned the game back on, and I can't remember why, whether it was hoping for something else or just to start a new game, and found the epilouge. I was like "!!! Awesome! I knew that couldn't have been the end."

I know there's at least a few others around here that did something similiar. Though in EBC, I think it's more obvious than EB.

Alunissage got it right about the Mega CD version's presentation being different in the US and Japan. ...unfortunately, my memory's dim right now so I can't remember which was which, but there is definitely one version where the Epilogue save file is called "epilogue," and another that just says "Hiero's House," and one of them was highlighted in a special text color, too, as I recall.

Then again, it's definitely clearer in the EB remake, since it tells you right away that you just unlocked the epilogue if you save your gave at the end.

Heh, I think I partially owe my favorite game, Mega CD Lunar~EB, to hearing about the Epilogue ahead of time in a magazine! Something about the text of, "Can Hiero find his way to the Blue Star and recapture his love with Lucia" sounded so charming and the idea of a more overt love relationship in an RPG (as compared to FFVI and Chrono Trigger at the time) really drew me.

So YEAH, go beat that epilogue!

It's the US one where it says Epilogue, rather than Hiero's House. Thanks for the clarification. I can see where the latter would be more obscure, if you didn't remember whether you'd had any save slots there.

? Are you just talking about getting to the epilouge? If so, it's mentioned above. Otherwise, I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about "surprise".

The surprise is just that the epilogue exists, that there's more to play after the battle with Zophar, the ending and credits. That's all.

You've already seen one of them at the very beginning.

The other... I don't remember, but I want to say it's in some watery ruins.

The ruins are near Horam, if I remember correctly...

Damn, I wish my knowledge of EBC was as extensive as of the original EB. :)

The other eye is in the Water Ruins that you cross to get to Azado...but you need to get the Rememberizer first. The cave near Horam is completely optional, though it has a pretty cool item. (No Sunken Tower in this game!)

*sigh*

Go to Nota, where there's a marriage about to take place, and talk to people there.

You don't actually have to have everyone in your party, by the way. You can complete the Epilogue with just Hiro if you want.
