So, Hayao Miyazaki has made a new flick, and I got to go see it with a handful of friends yesterday... ... ... It was adorable.
Definitely a film directed more towards children as opposed to Mononoke, but the story was cute and it was overall an excellent watch. I'd give it an 8/10 or so. Stunning graphical work, awesome characters, and a surprisingly good dub cast. The only thing that bothered me is this... All this crazy crap is happening and these two five year old's set out on their adventure... And NO adults are even remotely concerned. "Hey everyone! Ponyo and I are going to set sail in this rickety boat on the tempestuous sea filled with all sorts of peril to find my mother!" You would think someone would have said, "Errr... I'll go with you..." But nope. They were totally fine sending the children off to their potential doom.
But, I found this more amusing than anything. Good flick.
