Is this a kissing movie?
Oh, dear...that had me laughing. Very cute.
As for Winry and Ed, I'm frankly glad they didn't put anything of that sort in. To me, Winry represented what the brothers had left behind - the road never travelled, so to say. Likely, they could have grown up, gotten over their mother's death, and still had a fairly happy and productive childhood. Instead they took the road they did, and I think the series goes makes a certain effort to illustrate the difference between them and Winry. She could see what they were going through, but she couldn't really understand. Putting her with one of the brothers - at least, during the time frame of the series/movie, where the events are still fairly recent - seems a bit odd to me, and detrimental to the symbolism.
As well, there wasn't really any romant ic developement, and I'm not much for romance unless it has a point and is well developed.
Perhaps I'm thinking a bit too deep into it, but that's the fun, eh?
As for the conclusion, I was quite happy with it. I do believe the tv show left a perfect ending, but the movie didn't hurt it much, and I'm glad they left it ambiguous - that just doesn't seem like a series that should have a solid ending to me.
