Very interesting. The characters all seem to come from monster clans and it reminds me of Breath of Fire a little. The hero is king of the dragon clan, even, and I'm not gonna pretend I don't like his sort of bastard pretty-boy.
Besides Akashi (who seems to be a visual director) the Takashi Hino who's given in the UnchainBlades articles as a Grandia creator also worked on Lunar back in the day. I remember an interview where Shigema passes the buck on Lunar containing a lot of immature humor off on Hino.

I think you mean Kubooka? He did the design for the fox girl. http://www.famitsu.com/news/201102/imag ... K4Go9.html They got their goddess design from Kazushi Hagiwara, that's priceless. (His manga Bastard!! [exclamation points required] is complete over-the-top awesome.)Iwadare is doing some designs for the game.

This more then anything about that game reminds me of Lunar:
Nice to see he's sticking with art style he used in Lunar 2. Although, I hate the dragon designs. If this ever gets state side I'll pass on this.
