http://www.gamersmint.com/final-fantasy ... -announced

Maybe they'll just skip the whole "game" aspect of it and release a boxed set of dvd cinematics.

Is this going to be anything like X-2 where the costumes at least get sluttier? In that case maybe I can just go straight to buying the artbook. KF

It DOES seem to be Final Fantasy 13: More Girls...

So, did this used to be under a different title? A title that I don't associate with a cheap and cheesy sequel? There are so many FF13 projects that I payed about as much attention to as the first one (precious little), I get confused.

If so, I hope it doesn't inspire inappropriate cosplay at conventions... Or to quote Drew Carey, "Please dress appropriate to your body size!"

I would hope that the purpose of this sequel is to put some of the stuff that wasn't running down hallways and was cut from the first game due to time pressure back into the game. I really liked the game that FFXIII wanted to be.

Though I can't help wondering if it'll be like X-2 in the sense of "saving" someone from the first game who had a less than satisfactory treatment in the ending.

Gee, and I thought that's what Epilogues were for! :)

Some epilogues are just very long.

EXTREME HALLWAY RUNNING.
DO NOT ADD SCISSORS.

Squenix just likes money. Final Fantasy is their cash cow, it will never be good again.

Final Fantasy is the new Madden.

Yeah, she's in a more fetishy outfit this time. Who'd have though, eh?

I wasn't even able to finish the first one... and now there's goin' to be another one?!
Why can't they put their time into somethin' decent, like my Final Fantasy VI remake!

I saw this yesterday...and yeah.

This just doesn't look promising to me. Especially after X-2, which I hated. Sequels and Final Fantasy games seem to spell disaster. Of course, if it actually looks good, I'll give it a chance. We'll see.

A white dragon. Duh.

Honestly, I don't get why people let this series polarize them so much. Clearly enough people like whatever game comes out to not make blanket statements about everything they produce since [arbitrary time point] bad. Not everyone has to like the same thing.

It just struck me as funny that there are inevitable comments like "I don't want a new game, just my remake of FF [4, 6, 7, whatever]" when people here, not necessarily the same ones, have complained so much about getting remakes of Lunar 1 instead of a new game.

Heh, I have to agree with you. I may make fun of certain things in FF and these sequels (like my "Epilogue" comment), but I don't call it complaining or even calling it bad (although, admittedly, I have yet to get why people like the FF series so much -- especially the 8 and 16-bit ones which I felt were nothing special and even primitive looking in some respects). Still, it's just my personal opinion and I outgrew the desire to flame everyone who disagrees with me a long, long time ago.

That said, I still see no problem with a good-natured ribbing, however.

Well, I pre-ordered FF XIII and I'm still on chapter 5.

That should tell you how much I like it.
