I was a total dork for American McGee's Alice back in the day. Finally, after ten years, American is finally making a sequel. (From what I gather though, it feels more like a remake.) I've been following his progress very patiently for several months now. At last, the teaser trailer has been released! D: (Actually, it's been out for a while now, I'm just slow. xD)
I'm an excited little nerd. :B

Re: Alice: Return to Madness
I thought for sure it was a sequel that was supposed to take place some years after she gets out of the asylum and is seeing a therapist. Either way, I'm not getting my hopes up at lightning striking twice with this game. I loved the first one, and despite how much I want this one to be made and be good, I've been burnt so bad in the past from sequels that any shred of excitement is carried away by the howling winds of despair.

I have the original PC game. But keyboard controls STINK. I never did beat it. I wonder how much you need to know of the original... if anything...

Considering the time span between the two, I don't think you'd need to remember much. But it would probably have allusions to the previous title. Possibly a little refresher opening cinematic just to get people caught up.
I can't remember, could you hook up a game pad and use it? I remember doing something similar, though I'm not sure if it was with something else that just reminded me of Alice.

I'm pretty sure you could do the game pad option. However, I used the mouse.
And yeah, according to American's team, you don't have to play the first one to enjoy the sequel. Both old fans and new fans should be able to jump right in with or without having played the first game.

It may even do what SC2 did and have a refresher during the install screen.
