Luminous Arc

Post by Greensky »

This DS game is what Lunar: Dragon Song should have been like! Well, not the strategy battles portion but the characters in this game were all memorable, the voice acting was pretty good, the story had quite a twist and the music was really well done (Yasunori Mitsuda from Xenosaga fame made the music).

Overall, I got the feeling that I was almost in the Lunar world while playing this game. If a flying mini-dragon/cat made an appearance, I would have been convinced.

Everyone here should try this game out. I can't see any Lunar fan hating Luminous Arc.

Played it already? Post your thoughts on the game here!

I just finished it last night.

This might be something nice to try after Phoenix Wright 2.

What's the strategy battles part like? Are we talking FFTactics style? KF

Luminous Arc is definitely on my must-get list (especially nice that it looks so good because the PSP seems to be getting all the nifty RPGs lately). Somewhat similar to Kizyr, I'll be getting it after Lynne and I pick up Phoenix Wright 3.

Yes, It is just like tactics, just a little more toned down in terms of ability to choose your own magic/skills. Each character has his/her own set of personal magic and skills.

Aye, if I had me a Wii, I'd plunder me a copy.

Yarr, the bilge of that kind of system be it's length. Some o' them single battles in FFT took me nearly half an hour! Firin' and reloadin' a blunderbuss be faster than that. KF

I like Talk-like-a-Pirate Day an' all, but I just wish the stores wouldn't put up the decorations so early. It seems like they've hardly taken down the decorative Fourth of July nukes before they start putting up all those eye patches and peg legs.

The battles throughout the game are fairly easy to get past. Although I think I did concede to defeat at least twice.

The last battles in that game though... quite harsh unless you know which strategy to take. I think I died 4 or 5 times trying to get through the last part.
