Nintendo DS games suggestions

Post by yroc »

Hey guys, I just got a Nintendo DS and was wondering what I should get for it. So far, I'm planning on getting Lunar Legends and Lunar: Dragon Song.

"Sprung" is a pretty fun game. It's sort of like a choose your own adventure/dating sim game. You cane be really nice, neutral, or a real jerk in how you interact with people, it's pretty funny.

Recently, I played a REALLY awesome game, called "Elite Beat Agents" it's about secret agents that dance and sing to save people in danger. It's a rhythm game where you use the stylus to tap the screen to the beat of the music. The animations that happen on the top screen are HILARIOUS. I'm still trying to be the songs on medium and hard modes. It has a lot of replay value as well. I'd highly recommend this game!

This is an easy one!

The New Super Mario Bros. is a really fun platformer albeit easy compared to the olden days.

Phoenix Wright is really good if you want a fun point and click adventure.

Kirby Canvas Curse is a fun game. And it has some of the most beautiful 2-D graphics ever not to mention a soundtrack that creates ambience.

I had Trace Memory highly recommended to me, though I still haven't played it. Tetris is fun if you want some nostalgia. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is a GBA game, but I'd recommend it over Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, if you want a cute, funny RPG.

The Castlevania games are awesome. "Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow" came out last year, and "Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin" is scheduled for release shortly.

If you haven't played any of the GBA/DS Castlevania games (or Symphony of the Night), it's basically 2D-adventure sidescroller ala Metroid wherein new items or abilities open new areas, combined with lots of RPG elements.

I second the New Super Mario Bros. and the Castlevania games. Mario Kart was fun too.

I second Phoenix Wright, highly enjoyable. I also would reccomend Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, if you liked the first Mario & Luigi this one does not dissapoint (though the final boss takes FOREVER. Have good reflexes...).

Actually, I found pretty emphatically that it DID disappoint after the first one. The dialogue is funny, but there's no real exploration at all, unlike the Zeldalike map of the first; the areas are all self-contained and there's almost nothing to go back for. The actions were much more cumbersome than Superstar Saga's, and the dungeons seemed to go on forever, and not in a good way. But of course you may care about different aspects of the game.

I object!

Thanks for the objection Kizyr... that website is great!

Anywho, I felt that while the game did have its flaws (like the dungens being way too long, as well as all the boss fights) I still enjoied it, the dialog (and particularly the lack thereof with the main characters) still made me laugh like the first one, and having four characters instead of two was an interesting concept. On the one hand I did like that feature but that did have a lot to do with the long dungens. I can see your point Alunissage but I still liked the game anyway.

Yeah, I think I would've been fine if I'd played them in the opposite order. Partners in Time is by no means a bad game, just weaker than its predecessor.

Super Mario RPG is still my favorite of the "Mario RPG" type games.

Amen to the above. No question there.

You know... I think I could have lived with that. In fact that could have worked nicely.

Nintendogs is a very cute game (or at least I thought so) but make sure you have the desire to play it daily... as the poor things get hungry don'tcha know. ^^*** (it's been about a year now...? Oh dear.)

LOL, yeah it's been six months since or so since I've checked on my dogs... I had three of them: Hershey, Snickers, and Almond Joy xD They've probably all run away by now haha

This is the popular favorite and for a great reason.

GET METEOS.

I recommend the Castlevania's A LOT. Also, get Final Fantasy 3, Children of Mana, and Magical Starsign for your DS RPG happenings.

The game continues even when you're not playing?
