Baldur's Gate (AKA ITT: It's 1998)

Post by Jenner »

Wow this game has such AWESOME GRAPHICS HOLY -Dragon Diamond-.

Jaheira just shut the -Fatal Hopper- up.

Dude when did Princess Azula (TIME DISCONTINUITY) move into Faerun?

>.> the game explodes every time I kill a Wyvern.

Kivan thinks he's batman.

MORNINGSTARS ARE THE BEST WEAPONS EVER.

Imoen would probably make a great magic-user but I don't want her to not be able to shoot bows.

OH GOD I'VE BEEN CRIPPLING MYSELF FOR NINE HOURS. I'm so used to rangers not being able to wear heavy/medium armor because they'd lose all their shiny class bonuses. It appears that is not the case here, now Minsc can stop dying.

DID THAT PHASE SPIDER JUST DIMENSION DOOR UP MY ASS AND TAKE ME APART FROM THE INSIDE? I THINK IT DID.

HOLY -Dragon Diamond-, ANKHEGS ARE OVERPOWERED.

When did druids become so -Fatal Hopper- prevalent? GO AWAY.

WTB the ability to worship Ilmater, Ilmater is my homeboy.

DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THE RED WIZARDS OF THAY ARE ALL HOMOSEXUAL OR IS IT JUST ME?

What is this? I don't even....

Baldur's Gate is a double entendre, are you the master of unlocking or are you the gatekeeper?

The keymaster of free molestations, right? 8-)

I used to play Baldur's Gate with a friend of mine, and I miss having a nice co-op experience because none of my friends play the same games as me. (Because they're asstards) I'm not even sure if I have any of the games left though, because I probably traded them in. I get bored easily.

I've never actually played Baldur's Gate but I did play Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, which was a fun, if light, two player RPG. The most annoying aspect of it was the barmaid character from the beginning, who seemed to serve the purpose of informing the player that the game was made by geeky males with no social skills.

I prefer it when games don't bludgeon me with that fact.

I kinda liked games like this because it kept the jocks and frat boyz out of our club house. Games like this need to exist as a wake up call that our favorite past time is still quite a nerdy thing. I don't care if all you ever play is Madden or something manly like Modern Warfare 2, it's still a platform to live out your virtual fantasy of being something you're not or will never be. That being said, I support this thread in all it's geekdom. That and BG 2 was the game equivalent of winning the lottery.

There is a comedian who said that Fantasy Football is like Dungeons and Dragons for jocks.
