production of Hamlet

Post by Pisces »

Well, I'm in Hamlet, and we open this Friday...

I'm a little freaked out, because our costumes person has seemed a little flaky, and she just sent an e-mail letting everyone know they'd be costumed by Wednesday...which is weird, because generally they're supposed to have the costumes (at least mostly) done by the beginning of tech week.

I'm playing Francisco in the opening, and then later in the play I'm Osric. If anyone saw the Kenneth Branagh version from the late 90s, Osric is the character Robin Williams played.

Sweet! Hamlet is my second-favorite Shakespeare play, right behind Othello. I still have dreams of playing Othello some day.

But... that's a bit worrisome having the costumes supposedly done only two days before opening. KF

HOORAY FOR OSRIC! [/foppery]

Break someone else's leg, Eric. Because they probably deserve it. =P

Osric!

I still have yet to see that version of Hamlet. But in the production I saw, he was notable, for such a brief appearance.

And yeah, Francisco is cool too. Have fun with it!

I can't remember who Francisco is. Is he one of the guards?

Yeah, Francisco is just a bit part in the first scene. He's the guy on guard who freaks out when the other guard shows up and scares him.

And Osric is a fun character. I get to pronounced the word "carriages" as "khhharry-ahhges".

I'm going to fop till I drop.
