Your top 10 Metal Albums

Post by DragonmasterAndy »

Alright..welll...the topic might be a little cliche, but I aim to have an actual discussion within this topic.

Here goes for my list:
1.Heathen-Victims Of Deception
2.Megadeth-Rust In Peace
3.Scanner-Mental Reservation
4.Artillery-By Inheritance
5.Eidolon-The Parallel Otherworld
6.Agent Steel-Unstoppable Force/ Order Of The Illuminati
7.Blind Guardian-Tales From The Twilight World
8.Death-Individual Thought Patterns
9.Running Wild-Death Or Glory
10.King Diamond-Conspiracy/ Them

The list changes sometimes..but that's it pretty much. The first one stays the same, always.

You know, a lot of people talk crap on Opeth these days, but I think they're great musicians. I watched them at Gigantour when I went to see Overkill and Megadeth. They're a very tight band, and Mike Akerfeldt is the funniest frontman ever.

Here's my list, no particular order;

1.Metallica-Kill Em All
2.Cannibal Corpse-Butchered At Birth
3.Malevolent Creation-The Fine Art Of Murder
4.Suffocation-Effigy Of The Forgotten
5.Dying Fetus-Purification Through Violence
6.Amon Amarth-Once Sent From The Golden Hall
7.Blood Ritual-At The Mountains Of Madness
8.Deicide-Legion
9.High On Fire-Surrounded By Thieves
10.Mastodon-Leviathan

There is probably about 20 more I could add to this list but this will have to do for now. I am pretty one dimensional but I make no excuses I like my Death Metal.

Hey, since you like Death Metal...you ever tried Unleashed, Dismember, or Entombed? Obituary even? You might like them..though I'm sure that at the very least you have heard of them. Right?

megalodon u really think butcherd at birth is better than tomb of the mutilated, i downloaded some of them to see if i would like it or not and i listned to it for a day then deleted every trace of it from my computer but it seemed like tomb was a much stronger album

I think CC are the most generic DM band ever, personally. They are technically VERY skilled. But it feels like it's the same album, over and over. I guess just to my ears. Maybe you hear something that I don't?

thats mainly why i dint care for them i think they have kind of like the alice cooper shock factor going on everything, the album cover lyrics is all really gross so people are naturaly curious about it. tomb of the mutilated had better riffs than most of their stuff tho.

Please, all of Cannibal Corpses albums with Chris Barnes sounded completely different. What I like so much about Butchered is the riffs, plain and simple. It is the same reason I like Kill Em All, the riffs are amazing. I don't know how to describe it but it is what it is. I am probably a little partial though, Kill Em All was my first metal album and Butchered my first Death Metal album. They are both timeless albums for me.

Then I totally understand why you'd view it differently. I'm only talking about what I hear personally. I don't remember a whole lot about Barnes era stuff. I just know Fisher era stuff is shite to me.

I have Gallery Of Suicide around here somewhere. Maybe I'll check it out again. I can't even remember what it sounds like. I just remembered struggling to continue through the whole entire album.

Megalodon, do you like any Thrash or Speed Metal? If you haven't really explored it much, I could show you some cool stuff.

Well, I mean besides the typical bands.

Meaning Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax...those are the 4 typical bands that everyone likes for Thrash/Speed Metal.
