Family guy most definitely "roxxors my soxxors" as well. I about died laughing when I heard the speah Seth gave to the Harvard Graduates... as Stewie.
Not a huge Star Wars fan, but this was truly hysterical. ^^

I'm 50/50 with Family Guy, some of it is hilarious; like with the excessively sarcastic jokes regarding certain stereotypes, or political/social commentary (Such as the one where Peter became the Cigarette Company President), that side of it I like. Or the off the wall jokes that are not connected to anything but are hilarious such as the Ipecac drinking scene.
The other is the all too rampant jokes that come from nothing more than a TV show from the late 70's or 80's. Like "Hahaha, the Electric Company I remember that." or "Yea that show was lame." (Referring to any number of jokes poking fun at 80's sitcoms.) It's like the only reason that its funny is because we (Current 20-somethings) get the references, there's no real creativity to it. Which is why I didn't care for that ending, it was a shot for shot rip-off of Star Wars, there is no reason that the ending should be funny, at least in my opinion.
It would be like if I made it on a handi-cam with my friends same shots, same music, everything, would you laugh at it? Probably not, why does it get laughed at with Family Guy.

Because it's family guy =P Any comedy, whether movie or cartoon, that re-uses scenes from well known movies, tends to bring out laughter from people. I suppose it's all in the sense of humor the person reading it possesses. Sort of like my comics with "Phyco, I am your father." Some found it funny, some didn't, but the same prinicables that you brought up are there.

Enjoyed it here too. I just love it when characters like 'God' and Jesus comes into play... ( Sorry if my comment offended some here)
I find Stewie Griffin adorable. My favourite quote from the show is from him when being forced to take a nap(?) by his mother
" Curse you and your estrogenical treachery"
I use it all the time with my male friends when they make stupid decisions or piss me off.

With me, it breaks down to how it's used, the scene in "Peter Peter Caviar Eater" where Brian uses the Star Wars glass to show Peter that he was acting insane, the end of said scene coming from the "I am your father" scene in Star Wars (Peter's hand in the robe to look as if it were cut off and everything) was funny because there was some content there, they made the dialogue funny, and it had something to do with the story they were telling.
With that ending it just seemed like it was tacked on, there was no dialogue, no real connection to the story, they just did it because they could. From my perspective it just seemed like lazy storytelling.

Well, true, but again it's all in you're sense of humor. Though I bet if I watched this show when still in middleschool, I would have probably found it too offensive and distastful (which it is in many ways, but my sense of humor allows me to find the whole show funny.)
Though has anyone seen the skit with the Ice Age squirl? That was funny too.
(when discussion of freezing his sperm before he gets his tupes tied, he goes into flash back when freezing his nuts didn't work out.)
Peter: (As the squirl thingy is attempting to pull three acorns from an glacier) No, those are my nuts, my nuts, no. Awww, look at you, you're just a hungry little guy arn't you? But those are my nuts! (squirl attacks peter) Oh my god, my nuts, MY NUTS!

LOL! Oh you see, sometimes my mate can't seem to make his mind on buying stuff or where to go to eat. When he does sometimes he regrets his decision or we ended up wasting time for nothing.
Best one was when during a certain dinner some where I would rather forget, he spill some water on his shirt, and I said
" The hell?! Now you're lactating?!"
Sorry if it seems insulting to the ladies. And sorry if you don't get it.
