what new cds have you gotten?

I was just wondering what new cds people have purchased recently. For me I picked up.

Disturbed: One Thousand Fists
Shinedown: Us and them
RoadRunner United
System of a down: Hyipnotize
Korn: See you on the other side
Fort Minor: The rising tied

All of these cds are really good, The new disturbed cd is amazing, Fort Minor is really good considering I don't like rap. For you that don't know Fort Minor is Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park own hip hop/rap group. Sytem of a down is always good, but this cd just doesn't seem to live up to mezmorize. Anyway what has everyone else picked up lately

I picked that up last month. I've found it more entertaining than Believe was, although that still had a few good tracks.

So I'm a Metal Head...is anyone really surprised? haha

Roas Atrades So I am, and I agree with you Ten Thousand Fists is better then believe, I actually think its their best cd. The sickness proabably has the most memrabile singles but has alot of so so songs. What other Metal bands are you into?

I'm mostly old school:

GNR
Metallica
Korn
Linkin Park (I know they are a combo, but their sound is mostly metal)

These are my mainstays for hardcore metal. I pick up some other songs here and there. I like most of the old school metal bands too, but I don't own much of them. One of my best friends from college had all of it, but this was before iPods, so I never got a chance to transfer his stuff to my collection. I'm that kinda guy who can actually fall asleep listening to metal :D

I don't listen to radio that much, since it mostly bores me with hip hop and pop. Therefore, I only once in a while get wind of new bands. If something is good enough, I eventually get wind of it.

Yeah, I love Linkin Park, I saw them live in Vancouver when they were on the Meteora world tour. It was just simply amazing. Korn is good to. I am pretty big slipknot and mudvayne fan as well. Then of course Disturbed. Then theres bands like Adema who have changed singers on the new cd.

Add nine thousand on to that.

A lot of the things I have been listening to have been out since the summer, stuff like Darkest Hour "Undoing Ruin," and The Black Dahlia Murder "Miasma." Unless something really good comes out soon, the only album I'm planning on getting is Tool's next release.

I don't really listen to nu metal and rock, Mudvayne and Korn are substandard at best compared to a band like Lamb of God or Hypocrisy.

NO. Korn, Linkin Park, etc. sound NOTHING like metal. If you really want metal, I'll suggest a few bands:

Trivium
Lamb of God
Hypocrisy
Shadows Fall
Darkest Hour
The Black Dahlia Murder

Michael McDonald - Motown One and Two
Arc the Lad Complete

Also, I found Mega Man X Arranged and where to get LUNAR: SSS Lunatic Festa.

:D

I've actually stepped out of my mostly Alt-rock cave, and am exploring more hip hop / rap kinda stuff like:

Talib Kweli - Quality & Right About now
Eminem - The Eminem Show & Encore
Kanye West - College Drop Out & Late Registration

To me it's amusing when Kanye West makes really loaded and offensive blanket statements about our president. But I took it with a grain of salt, and also view the man as an entertainer. In that role it was a shocking and successful comment. As someone at a benefit, it was just wrong.

Thinking about picking up some Bob Marley or Matisyahu reggae albums. I'm especially interested in Matisyahu, having heard him on some of P.O.D.'s upcoming CD tracks. And I'm sure I don't even have to mention that I'm picking up the new P.O.D. CD coming out later this month.

Bob Marley's Natural Mystic is my favorite. Though Chant Down Babylon is a great album if you don't have it already, and don't mind the remixes. KF

I just got Dvorak's Slavonic Dances, as performed by the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.

I used to not like Dvorak, since I just knew him for the New World Symphony (which I don't like at all). But I heard a few pieces from the Slavonic Dances and it sounded great. Got this one for, like, $5.50. KF

Well, it's my birthday tomorrow, so my sister just finished pre-ordering Duel Jewel's latest album 'Visions' for me as a present. Duel Jewel is a Jrock band for anyone who doesn't know. I've been really into Jrock lately. :D
