Are you guys looking forward to it or have any kind of plans?
I'll be driving home from school for it since we get a full week off for it. : ) I'm really looking forward to some pie. My mom makes like 6 different pies. <3

That's good. : D We probably have family coming down too since that's how it normally goes in my house.
So it's gonna be an evening full of pie and board games and us yelling at each other. <3

Then I get to go Black Friday shopping. @___@ I hope my mom doesn't want me to go after anything too desired. Last time I thought I was never gonna get out of the mob of people. : /

Do you have any food you like on Thanksgiving? I know my mom makes this really good baked corn. <333 It's the only thing I look forward to a little more then pie. xD

I had my thanksgiving a month ago it as nice, My boyfriends aunt came over to our house and made turkey dinner while we napped on the couch, then his parents and cousin came over and we all had dinner together. We got all the left overs and i made soup the next day. His aunt stole my mixing bowl though, well technically it was my Boyfriends deceased Grandmas (her moms) but she could have at least told me she was taking it.

It'll be FUN! KF

My family does a pretty traditional spread for Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, etc.

Out of that, it's awfully hard for me to pick a favorite. I like it all so much.

For the first time ever, I'm not going to my grandparents' house, but to my girlfriend's parent's house. (Woo genitive!)

It will be intriguing. Apparently on Saturday they have an entire day of table-top dungeoncrawling planned.

I'd definitely like to play some board games over the holiday. Not everyone in my family is into them though so it'll probably just be me, my wife, my brother and maybe a cousin or two playing.

We ususally go to my parents house for Thanksgiving. Other than cranberry sauce I look forward to dutch apple pie and vanilla bean ice cream. The day will also include ignoring football and playing w/ the dog. It's just going to be me, my hubby and my rents so it's not super exciting just comforting.

Do any of you eat unusual foods for Thanksgiving? We did chinese once which was nice but other than that we are an old fashioned turkey house. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

I don't think I've ever had anything unusual. We tend to have the same thing every year give or take a few pies.
Pretty much all the girls take part in the board games or last year we did the wii sports stuff.
While the guys watch sports on TV and drink beer. (if we don't play wii)

I mean, if you start listing the foods people not from the south or Appalachia will probably find some of our foods unusual.

I mean, a longtime vegetable dish of ours is green beans cooked with potatoes and bits of bacon. Delicious.

Though this year, my sisters have some plans to bake a triple-layer cake with a different pie cooked into each layer and a different kind of cake in each layer. It seems... excessive.

I've seen those pie/cakes on the foodnetwork before they look gross. I have always thought those were just for show. The green bean and potato dish sounds delicious!

It was great! Worked a total of 12 hours, so the paycheck will be schweeeeeeeet. Still had time to spend a few hours with family and enjoy a great Thanksgiving meal. Ham, mashed potatoes, 7 layer dip, rolls, coconut cream pie and apple pie. I was stuffed...

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese for me and cranberry sauce out of a can with an expiration date in 2007. =)

Actually, the cranberry sauce thing is kind of funny. My dad works for NBC, and several years ago (before 2007, presumably, but I forget when exactly) there was some Thanksgiving special at one of the studios and somehow there were cases of canned cranberry sauce left over afterward. So he took some home. Three cases, I think. Now, I love cranberry sauce, but not that much. Don't remember how much of it I ended up with, but I still have some. It's a vegetable, right?

My Thanksgiving was just like always. My dad and me watched the Macy's Day Parade and then we ate around noon when my aunt, cousins, and grandma came down. Then after the food we looked through the black friday flyers planned our night and then played scrabble and upwards. : )

We left the house around 10:30 for black friday. and got in around 8:30 Friday night.

My Thanksgiving was completely uneventful, like usual. Just had a typical Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, cranberries, mashed potato, stuffing, veggies, and pumpkin pie with my parents. We watched some movies later on.

I ate too much, watched Dallas BARELY beat Miami, then played NSMB Wii for about 3 hours with my brother and brother-in-law. It was a great time!
