NaNoWriMo

Post by lnrSaxon »

So November is National Novel Writing Month! Just wondering if anyone's participating! I'm signed up and registered, but I haven't written anything yet (cuz I've been writing papers all day everyday). I'm hoping to send something in for this sometime soon.

I'm kinda an English geek, so i'm pretty stoked for this. ^^

if anyone's interested, go here! http://www.nanowrimo.org/! And fanfics are accepted! we can be writing buddies. ^_^

I've been working on my novel for years and I've barely scratched the surface. I've got a feeling the month wouldn't see the end of my story.

Okay. So.

...I'm registered and working on my novel. Again.

I've got a concept and really I'm writing it by the seat of my pants. I haven't thought any of it out at all.

i think they pretty much said that was fine in the "What's NaNoWriMo" section. They're taking quantity over quality right now since we've only got a month to write 55,000 words. I think they actually specifically said, "you're going to write a lot of crap, and that's okay." O.o heh.

i think i finally have an idea. >_<

Ha, I've been working on all three of my novels simultaneously. It actually works rather well, get writers block on one, switch and carry on the other. That said, I only have about 15,000 words, and that is combined from all three sources. This story is my baby, so I am careful when I write it, so it takes me forever. Sometimes I even delete entire pages because I feel the story isn't flowing well enough.

Non-the-less, 55,000 words in a month, no frigging way, lol. I can come up with plenty of story ideas, just non that I can likely get 55,000 words out of.

I'd like to do it one year, but I'm trying to finish up a story I've been working on for years right now. Good luck to everyone's who's signed up, we'll try to help keep you going. (I've even seen books with tips on getting through each week.)

Well, I finally came up with my idea. Just started writing. I won't share here though, Alun will have my head (it's REALLY raunchy)!

I keep changing concepts, but I think I found one I'm happy with. Wrote over 2,000 words in one sitting and enjoyed it the whole time. I think I found what I'm going to write.

3,300 exactly so far. Gotta keep up the pace, I'm a few days behind. >.<

EDIT: I'm dropping out. Unless I think of a new idea in the next couple of days, I wouldn't make it, and would stress myself out too much over it. No one I've shown it too liked the idea anyway, so yeah. Too much of a waste.

Well, now that the month is over, how'd everyone fair?

Me personally, I think 5,000 some odd words is something to be proud of. >_>

I wrote 10 papers (not even exaggerating) last month, so I didn't get to touch this. =/

My best friend who got me into it finished hers and won, though! =D

What'd we get if we won exactly? I never looked into it, just on how to enter and what the rules were.

I got about 17,000 words in, but I just didn't have time to finish. :/
