What's everyone doing for Halloween?

Post by ilovemyguitar »

I'm sitting here in my angel costume (white linen pants, a white hoodie, and feathered angel wings), and going to head out to a Halloween costume party in a few minutes, and I'm curious to know what everyone else is doing for Halloween.

So. What's everyone doing?

This year for school I am going as Ed from Full Metal Alchemist. I think for my anniversary (which lovingly falls on the 31st) I'll be going as a pirate; I have this really neat, red, crushed-velvet corset-ish thing that has a slimming effect on me. (Not that I need to be all that much slimmer, I'm about average which is cool, 'course it also makes me look like I have boobs and THAT is a plus!)

Um, nothing, surprisingly. O___o

Halloween's my favorite holiday, so usually I'd spend the whole month of October planning and celebrating. But this year October came and went and I didn't even get to properly decorate the house! I spent the first few weeks planning Quinton's birthday on the 10th, and used all that time figuring out how I would celebrate and what gifts I should send him. I was so caught up in that, I didn't even think about Halloween. O_o

So currently, I have nothing planned. I'll probably dress in costume when I go to school Tuesday. I did that last year, and everyone thought I was off my rocker. xD
(I went as Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice :3) So this year I think I might wear my Hayato cosplay from Acen. <3

I'm just going to sit around my house and watch Tim Burton movies/eat candy by the bowl-full while dressed as Jack Skellington :3

I dressed as him last year at work, and everyone thought I was Beetlejuice O_o And/or Batman. WEIRDEST thing ever. I even had Jack's bowtie!

Dread Pirate Roberts!!!

Which is funny, because the costume consists of most of a Zorro costume, plus Darth Vader gloves and a (toy) rapier. I might fashion a cloth belt from the cape if I have time tomorrow.

I plan on wearing it to class. And to a party late in the evening... which I won't be staying at long, because of the two tests, group presentation, paper and a half looming in the rest of the week.

Work. Then get ready for my vacation that I leave for on Wednesday.

Though I may wear something to work. Heh, there's a warehouse in our building and they get to dress in jeans/shirts, while we have to wear business attire. I may dress up as a warehouse worker to get to dress casual. :P

The party was great. A lot more people showed up than I thought there would be there, though, and I ended up stashing the wings in my car about 30 minutes after I got there, because they were totally getting in the way (plus I couldn't really sit down without crushing them).

My friend got some pictures of me with the wings on after we left the party, and I might post them here when he e-mails them to me. I might not, though, as we were sort of drunk as skunks by that time, and they probably didn't turn out too well, haha.

I'm going to work until 7 tonight. Then I'll either get online and finish catching up what I missed the past half month or finish watching the original theatrical releases of Star Wars A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi XD.

We rented a bunch of horror movies, in addition to our own. I've already gone to 3 Halloween parties this past week and a half (and I really overdid the partying at one...let's just say I was all the entertainment the party needed).

We watched some of the movies last night, watching more tonight:

Friday the 13th (the original)
Night of the Living Dead (once again, the original black and white)
Pumpkinhead (I love this movie, the creature in it was my childhood boogeyman in my dreams, etc.)
Ringu 0
Wolf Creek
The Hills Have Eyes (remake, unrated version)
Alien

W00T CHANGE IN MY FREAKING PLANS!!!!11!!11elven

I got off of work, and suddenly remembering my childhood fun going trick or treating and thinking of the dream of it I had last night, I hit the Wal-mart on the way home and grabbed 2 big bags of each of the following: Snickers, Trix (my fave!), and M&Ms (you know, the big bag of M&Ms that has the smaller bags inside.) Then I came home, did a quick sign of "Trick or Treaters Welcome! Just knock loud" (I have poor hearing) and turned on the porch light. :)

So far, a handful of kids and slightly older kids came by and all got a handfull of those bars (I mixed them in a bowl, you probably would get that much chocolate from a house unless you went outside our neighboorhood.) Sure I was saving the money, but shoot you know, I love chocolate, kids love chocolate, I was a a kid once, so you know, I had to do it. :)

Now I feel good about it ^_^

I went out (sssh! I'm not quite too old) but sadly, there was almost no one out tonight. It was really disappointing - remembering fun time as a kid with neighborhoods packed with children, and the excitement we felt not only at the decorations and candy but going out after dark I feel sad for the kids missing out. Goodness knows what they were doing, but I was out from 6:30 until 9:00, and I saw only a few groups. That does make me sad...hopefully they were just in different neighborhoods. [/u]

Yeah, not many kids out tonight here either. Then again, it IS pretty cold outside (below freezing, but then again, that never stopped kids before.) I don't know, I too remember tons of kids outside when I was a kid.

I had a few trick-or-treaters, but it sort of started raining ridiculously hard, and that put a stop to that.

Kind of a bummer, but hey, I've got a bunch of candy all to myself now.

Whoo! A sweet change of plans in my night as well! :D

I got to hang out with six of my friends, one of which I haven't seen in forever. ;0; I dressed as Hayato for the day, then drove three of my friends to the mall and we went shopping for costumes. We created some havoc while we were there and saw an AWESOME Guilty Gear cosplayer. *__*

Afterwards we went back and changed into our costumes and ran around the neighborhood being loud and obnoxious. We did some trick or treating too, using one pillow case for all of us. xD We confused a lot of people. But we had a lot of fun! It was so cool hanging out with everyone.
