In case noone realized it, Rune's site The Shrine To Ghaleon turned 10 years old today. Just thought I'd mention it here, because that's a huge milestone for the oldest active Lunar site on the web.

Woo, 10 years! Though some of us have only been witness to your site for a little more (or a lot less) than half of that, I've enjoyed it. ^_^

No offense, but I can't say I believe you on that one. That's ten years dude. I wasn't even around then, having coming in early the following year (and even then, having little to do with the Lunar fandom outside of AOL members for around 6 months), and I don't remember you coming around until about 2000 or so.

Heh. Thanks guys. It's kinda scary being the longest continually running Lunar site. And we still get traffic and have an active community. That's the nuttiest part. The web design looks like crap because it hasn't changed in most of those ten years, but it's home. I guess that's what counts. :)

Hey, simple is good. I've really been appreciating that in the last few weeks, when looking at bridal gown sites; their (web)designs almost universally suck in the department of way too much fading in and sliding around and difficult to navigate content. Anyway, it's pretty neat to be around for a decade and still be current. :) Congratulations!

Honestly, I'm finding a simple website more and more refreshing these days.

Either way, congrats! Happy tenth.

I never became active on any forums until 2000 (I know Rune's was the first forum I did anything on) but I was active on the mailing list for the shrine well before that - I still have the simplenet address in a saved bookmarks file. I may not have seen the page on day one, but the instant yahoo had it, so did I. My early internet days saw me doing little other than visiting game sites, lol

Mine too...just much later than yours. ;) I think WD's site was the third I ever visited, at a time when my connection was so inadequate the first site I ever went to took 20 minutes to load the first page. That almost put me off browsing entirely. :P

My first site visit was msn.com. Then Yahoo, then lycos, then AskJeeves... and one or two more other now defuct but was once popular search engines. So nyah.

Then my first porn site (accident) and THEN eventually I started looked at gaming sites that had Lunar info (Lunareb, RPGfan, RPGsomething, IGN, and eventually the old shiznezityfiznez Lunar-net forums.) :P

Ahhhhh! Remember all the AOL Gamng Clubs!! LOL! ACO, Mog's Realm, Avalanche!!, some stupid club called Dragons of Destiny? who cares haha.

Those were the days. I joined ACO as a last resort cause all the other clubs closed and I got banned from Mog's Realm. I remember meeting Neurmancer right before it too, tryna make him join my club. He was some retarded game freak, nothing like he became. hahaha.

Anyways congrats Rune. You'd aleast expect a site that old not to still LOOK that old. ;] Im just teasin'.

Intresting to see how one man's small fan site ends up spawning several decent sized gaming sites and goes from a small fan site and ends up being one of the largest fan sites for that game series on the net, and also ends up becoming the 'official' site for a couple of the games.

Just think G1, if you only whored out Lnet for ads like IGN you would be one rich dude. :P

I emphasized the two lines because I suddenly got an image of the current engorged Lunar-NET, a strange blend of Lavos and one of those people with advertising tattoos all over them. It would've made Chrono Trigger more interesting.

"No! Lavos destroys... the future? What's that say... 'survive against me and get a free ringtone'?!?"
