Yay! A Guide Book!

I wasn't thinking there would be one, but apparently there is!:

I'll be picking that up. Hopefully their put in some nice artwork. Plus its always nice to see if there's any secrets and stuff.

Huh. Thanks for the heads-up. If it's a more or less straight translation of the Japanese one, it will have a pretty good guide to the secrets and monsters. The Japanese one was incredibly useful for updating my monster stat tables.

Honestly, I spent so much time looking at charts and tables that I don't remember. I'll check when I get home.

Look at the Date: Its set for 2/15/2010 while the game and the limited edition is set for 3/2/2010. I am either missing something or someone is just drunk in imputing the dates in the website.

It does not make sense to me that the strategy guide gets released before the game itself. Usually a strategy guide for a game gets released when the game comes out or few days after. Because promoting reading the strategy guide before a game can spoil the game.

Happens sometimes. Metal Gear Solid 4's guide was out before the game, leading to people trolling with the spoilers.

It's more common for guides to show up before the game. It's a shame they don't even have an image for it yet, but it's undoubtedly going to be the same art that's on the game box. Of course a collector's edition guide would be even better, ala the DS Zelda games.

I recall for Game Boy Advance or some system the games coming out before the system or something. I think I remember my brother's friend having them and waiting for the system to come out. Which is even more evil.

I prefer Bradygames myself, but we'll have to see how the guide turns out.

Hm, I'd missed that somehow. I'd get it anyway, of course (I have the Prima SSSC guide, after all), but if it's unofficial it's not too likely to have any new art.

Bradygames is good. Doublejump is my favorite, but they don't publish a lot of guides.

For a change, I think I'll actually buy a guide book. Only because it's Lunar, anyway. ^_^

Amazon doesn't have the guidebook listed yet. I'll wait a few days to see if it pops up. If not, I'll just order it from Gamestop.

Oddly enough I checked Borders.com to see if they had a listing but they don't. However, Barnes and Noble did have a listing that states you can pre-order it from GameStop. They even have a listing for the game, and even Silver Star Story for PS1.

I didn't know they co-listed things.

I wonder if they'll be a poster offer like the official ps1 game had. Or at least maybe a poster in the guide?

Speaking of posters, it seems that XSEED may be looking into giving away a very select image as a poster prize if they can secure it. I made a comment regarding the Dark Althena wallpaper on the Japanese site and it seems to have caught their interest. Here's hoping!

Amazon FTW. :) Hopefully you do get the game on release day though (whenever that is).
