I don't think any of them do her any justice. Nall is rather accurate for however many years later, after he's mentally matured, but Ruby would still be the same age as Hiro, you'd think. She looks too young and just not...her.

Of the three I prefer the first one, as I don't know why but the short hair doesn't do it for me. The expression on number three is perfect though.

Hmmm... Not sure I'm overly fond of any of the outfits either. I'd have liked to see a finalized "official" version... which could look like one of these and my not look like either! Especially after looking at the other characters previous designs…

Eh, I was never too fond of the long haired version of her, but I think the short haired one fits quite well. I usually picture her as a human like that, it seems fitting. Probably quite a bit of my opinion comes from the fact that she looks older in the second picture, as well.

Dunno what the last one is; it looks like fanart to me. Akari Funato also drew a visualization of her as a human, amongst her sketches for Childhood's End: http://home.att.net/~RCpics/tnkhar.jpg

I don't think any of those images would look like Ruby in human form, except for maybe the last one. They just don't seem like her. However, I do imagine Ruby in short hair.
Some of the answers in this post are made of frozen lose with whipped failsauce topping and suck sprinkles......

Maybe we can get some of the art-fans to make their version. That would be fun. Like PrettyGirlJean likes to make stuff. I could try, too.

Actually, she looks more like she is 13 to me in those pictures.

The last picture on the link Alunissage provided is rather cute* though.

not like a hooker with a whip. like a school girl. a school girl with a pet tentacle monster.

EDIT: phyco, you should make a comic (somehow..somebody make a human ruby sprite) where Hiro gets a letter from Jerry Springer (amazingly!) on the Blue Star and he comes back to find out that Ruby brought him there to see what he missed out on.

I gotta say, Concept 1 seems pretty spot-on how I'd envision a human-form Ruby.

I think that you are not referring at the same image (lol). If you do, then I'm confuse, they are two long haired version in the one I post .

I'd have to agree that number one is pretty spot on, but I really like concept number two with the dual colored hair. That's really neat!

I like concept #2, though I don't really agree with the brownish hair color.
