Lunar eBay auctions

Post by Alunissage »

It's the season to be selling collectibles, I suppose. I rarely look at eBay now because there isn't much left for me to get Lunarwise that would show up on it, but I took a look last night and found a few of interest:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Lunar-Sega-CD-Genes ... 0060387385

http://cgi.ebay.com/LUNAR-THE-SILVER-ST ... 0063009021
(Note that this auction is LYING about the disc art; the rarest one is the Disc 7 I linked above, not this one.)

This auction says it's for a guide for SSS, but what's shown in the photos is Magic School. I've written the seller asking which it is. (Edit: it's for Magic School, and as far as I know it's the only guide for MS out there; there doesn't seem to have been one for WS.)

And, of course, buckets of the domestic-release games and a handful of imports.

I noticed there was some artwork in the Lunar Magic School walkthrough. Was there ever an artbook for Lunar Magic School?

No. Artwork does appear here and there, such as in the novel and the tabletop RPG rulebook (I think; mine's out on loan).

Figured I'd just post here instead of making a new thread. I just made off fairly good on Ebay this month.

I got the Mega CD TSS and regular SSS import on the Saturn for 26.50 combined (shipping included). TSS is pretty much mint, but I'm not sure if the spine card is included (I'm doubting it, as it's not mentioned). The SSS import is in mint condition with spine card.

I also got the MPEG Saturn version for just under 40, in pretty much mint condition, still including trading cards and spine card. Not sure if I overpaid, as there are cheaper ones on Ebay, but none with the spine card or trading cards.

Just curious, but what versions came with trading cards? I scored some with Magic School a few years back, and will get some with the MPEG Saturn version of SSS. Was there any with the regular version of SSS?

As far as I know only the MPEG version of SSS came with the cards, and probably only the first printing of the Saturn EB. There's been an auction at YAJ for just the EB trading cards, and I think it might have said that only the first printing came with them. I don't know about MS. I bought both MS and EB twice because the first time I didn't get the cards, but that may have been just a side effect of getting them used. I've seen an unopened SSS (not MPEG) on YAJ but I haven't been quite curious enough to buy it a third time to see what's in it. :P

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on TSS/SSS. :) Not sure what the MPEG would run, but mine was more expensive in early 2001. Someday I'll have to get the hardware to play it... :P

i put a bid in on a unopened copy of magic school the description didnt say anything about trading cards, so it might not come with any, then again most people dont list items properly anyways.
