Weird fan comic I found...

You won't believe this, but i went to Komike (Tokyo Comic Market, AKA "KOMIKETTO", "KOMIKE", "Comic Party", etc.) and found the STRANGEST LUNAR Dojinshi (fan comic). It featured Lemina as a magical girl...complete with sailor fuku. ><

If I know Lemina right, she wouldn't be caught DEAD in one of those things. ^^; It's a straight-up Sailor Moon clone, I think...and the part SHE would hate most is that she fights all teh bad guys, and never makes any silver at all! Some way to run a railroad. >.>

Lunar doujinshi (excluding Funato Akari's) are rather rare, so I envy you. :wink:

This talk of magical girl Lemina has induced in me an odd train of thought:

Lemina is eerily similar to the heroine of the anime Slayers (or perhaps it shoud be the other way around? When did the Slayers novels start??), Lina Inverse (both pushy, money-grubbing, self-involved magic users - they even share a seiyuu). Magical girl Lina; therefore, magical girl Lemina.

I just picked up a poster at the last anime convention I went to. Lemina, along with Lucia and Jean, are riding aboard some small flying contraption. Lemina looks very oddly magical-girlish.

I'll see if I can't take a photo of that sometime. But, in all honesty, Lemina's regular outfit does look a little like a school uniform. KF

That's the artwork on one of the covers for the strategy guide. And I just realized I don't have it on LunarNET, nor can I even find it anywhere on Working Designs site anymore.

Yeah, I have a poster of that too, perhaps the same one. The flying thing was an early idea for what was ultimately her not-very-useful magic carpet that the group tries to use to leave the Ghost Manor in EBC.

What the heck IS "Dojin" anyway? People throwing all the Japanese words around and I end up thinking they mean one thing, only to discover they probably don't mean what I thought they mean. Make sense?

All righty, I'll go ahead and scan it tomorrow. Unfortunately, of the 26 pages only 3 are Lunar related ^^; The other girl on the cover has a story in it that's much longer. In the back there's what I'm assuming are ads of some sort, one has that jester-like character from the "Nights" game. There's also a few titles in english such as "Brain Dead 13" and "Death Crimson".

EDIT: Sorry about the delay here are the scans. I also scanned the content page as well, can someone tell me what the other stories/games are? Thanks so much!

...it's a dojin. You can't be expecting some huge plot. It's supposed to be pointless. It also sounds like some plays on words, but fortunately they're puns which work out in English as well (e.g., "look up to him / measure up to him" and talking about height). KF
