Indeed there is. In the inventory, the image is that f a bromide, black background and a red X. The picture is of Borgan holding the Dark Scimitar.

I really need to get the details for Bromide X on the site. I get more Emails about it than any other Lunar subject, save Lunar 3.

I think it's kind of a shame that it was ever found, really. It's just an in-joke that half the players won't get, and people just posting the button combo to get it ignores the hints in the guide and stuff. It won't add anything to the game experience for players who don't know the history because it has absolutely zero to do with the game itself and is so obscurely hinted at that the chances of anyone finding it without reading about it are also about zero, so there's no "oh, I found a secret!" reward to getting it. It's even less meaningful than the Chris Houlihan room in Link to the Past.

For as many times as I played that game, I never knew that existed until later. I knew that game so well I could beat it in a few hours without dying once, but somehow never happened upon it. I might try and hook it up and play it just to see it. Do you know if it's on the GBA cart or if it was removed?

Summon enlightenment!
It's from the original Eternal Blue forums. That should do it.

How does drama and controversy come out of this item? I don't understand how this happens.

"The dark scimitar is an awesome glitch"
"Well, i think it sucks."
"Does not! Douchebag!"

EDIT: i dont see a dark scimitar thing on Wikipedia. one of those encompassing everything pertaining to it would be a quick fix.

Yeah, because an entry "encompassing everything" is quick.

It'll be in LNet's Encyclopedia eventually. No rush; it's not relevant to the people who weren't around at the time and those who were know the story.

I haven't read the strategy guide so finding bromides is a big deal to me. My favorite is the one of Jessica from SSSC on a boat. Anything nostalgic from SSSC on EBC is great to me.
Some of the answers in this post are made of frozen lose with whipped failsauce topping and suck sprinkles......

IIRC, Bromide X wasn't in the strategy guide. Or atleast, its presence was only hinted.

Yeah, there are at least two hints: the X sticker (which unfortunately was somewhat screwed up by another bromide sticker error so its impact was lessened) and one screenshot. There may be others; I haven't combed it carefully. I remember Vic telling me that there were clues in the guide, so that does imply more than just the screenshot.
