Ultra Series Lettering?

Post by brit »

So as you know on the game cover it says “RPG” on the cover image and then right below it “Working Designs Ultra Series”. Over the years as I have been browsing ebay I have noticed that there seem to be two different boxes for TSS.

My own copy has the RPG lettering in a yellow/gold, while the WDUS lettering is in the purple/pink that they liked to use. However, I have seen a few where the WDUS is in the same yellow/gold as the rpg lettering. Is there any reasoning behind that?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I don't think it has... ^^’’ I’m just curious as a collector.

The first printing had no metallic on the manual (also, the disc art didn't go all the way to the center, because it was printed by someone else), and the WDUS is printed in the same yellow as the RPG. The rest of the printings have metallic on them, with RPG in gold and WDUS in purple. And Eternal Blue has both RPG and WDUS in metallic purple.
