Re: Lunar 2: something got lost from Lunar 1?

Lunar 1 feels different because Alex barely speaks. When you play the first one, it's like Alex is you and you're on an adventure. When you play Lunar 2, it's like a really great story that you're observing rather than being in.

MMORPGs will continue to exist because people love repetition.

Great call! That game was so good that it caused me to make the mistake of buying NiGHTS: Journey Of Dreams for $50. So disappointed in that game.

Re: This place is starting to gather dust.

Wow this had massive potential. Between there not being a four heroes game, even though the players have clamored for it, no Lunar 3, no US release of Magic School, only one remake of EB and every single remake of the first Lunar getting smaller each time... I'd say the companies have thrown disappo...

I didn't expect to see a Mariah Carey reference in this thread. I'd pay good money to hear her cover the vocal tracks from this series, though. lol

Freud had some valid views that others misinterpreted and DIDN'T WANT to acknowledge. Either way, we aren't the target audience and never were. Other genres have always put RPGs in the background. Sandbox mayhem and first person shooters may be dominating the industry now, but it was fighting games ...

Re: Disappointed in the majority of gamers

Minecraft is incredibly boring and probably REQUIRES the imagination of a child to enjoy it. It doesn't matter what skin you download, it's the same dull game regardless of if it looks like Mario, Zelda, Metroid or whatever.

Ninja Gaiden because I apparently enjoy being pissed off. I picked up Ninja Gaiden II a little while ago (NES, using a RetroDuo). And... now I remember why I never got that into the Ninja Gaiden series. I mean, the snowdrift level is enough to make me ragequit. On the other hand, Metroid, Castlevan...

Re: Disappointed in the majority of gamers

I understand being upset that Lunar isn't as known as it should be, but if you want to place blame, blame Sega for releasing the Sega CD at $300 in 1992 dollars. Blame the infamously horrible FMV games that tarnished the system's name further. Blame the Sega CD's color limitations of 32 colors. Ther...
