Re: Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games I've ever played
Now that I am sick to death of Nomura and SE's brand of anime-realism, IX seems to shine even brighter. This! I really miss Amano's character designs. Nomura's don't hold a candle even when they're not annoyingly silly. If we're going to start talking Yasunori Mitsuda, I'd like to point out that I ...

Preorder'd!whitedragon_nall wrote:For anybody interested...the Ys: Oath in Felghana Limited Edition is up for preorder on amazon. Game, soundtrack, and a calendar for 39.99 MSRP.
Thanks for the heads up. The soundtrack xor calendar would be worth the $10 alone.

^How was the Futurama panel? I almost went to it, but instead went to an EFF panel (I think it was deep packet inspection? Nothing I didn't already know, disappointing) with a couple of friends.

Re: Final Fantasy XIV
It's pretty obvious that FFXIV was in development simultaneously with XIII. I do wish they'd give online FF's their own branding, if only to simplify the numbering and sooth my collectionist urges, but oh well. I was really looking forward to it, but I don't have time for anything resembling gaming ...

Re: Yay three-day weekend!
I know a road around here that should have a cow crossing sign. Damn cows. Bleh. I spent most of the weekend doing yardwork, and one day at Dragon*Con. My mom decided to get her house refinanced and reappraised, so several weekends have been devoted to making the drive there and getting it in shape.

Kale is one of my favorite vegetables of all time. I like it even more than spinach. It's delicious just wilted in a pan with butter (or a butteroid) even.

I made eggs florentine for the lady friend I'm attempting to woo. I really love spinach. Wasn't too salty this time either!

Re: Bored and Lonely.
In this case "the worse" is having a totally awesome close friend who happens to be of the opposite sex. I'm not completely head over heels for this girl or anything. I could see myself that way if we start dating (the best,) but I can put my emotions on hold until then. In my internal, g...

Thirded! Necks are important. They hold up the head and all.
I actually recently started a new diet. It's called "not having the time to eat three meals a day." I'm two weeks in, and I think I actually am losing weight.

Hrm. I wasn't exactly shot down, but I wasn't exactly accepted either. Apparently she feels like she needs to be single right now (just got out of a series of failed relationships,) but she does feel a strong connection with me. Kind of a "let's continue to hang out and probably something will...

BlazBlue is pretty awesome! I thoroughly enjoy Calamity Trigger. I main Litchi, but I also enjoy playing around as Taokaka. I have to say, I like it more than Guilty Gear just because I suck less. It's a bit slower, and everyone doesn't seem to have an incredibly head start on me knowledge-wise. Unf...

Re: Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games I've ever played
Mystic Quest was, according to the Source of All Knowledge wikipedia , composed by Ryuji Sasai (perhaps better known for the FF Legend III soundtrack) and Yasuhiro Kawakami (...Chocobo's Dungeon 2?) I'm not terribly familiar with the MQ soundtrack. I don't think I've played the game since I was...tw...

Re: Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games I've ever played
I like the FFX soundtrack. But FFIX's soundtrack is easily one of the most emotional for me. KF For me IX and VI were Uematsu's peak. He hasn't done anything better since. I don't think he's done an FF since. I believe he only partially composed FFX. He has done a couple of 360 games, but I've play...

I just got back from the midnight showing. But first, some cred. I started reading the books around two years ago, right before the fifth volume came out. I can't count how many times I've reread them. What follows contain minor spoilers that only really make sense if you've read the books in the fi...
