Re: Anyone have any new year resolutions?

Do you lift regularly (I would imagine if you can curl that much). Got any tips? Yeah, I lift on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Different methods work for different people, but I curl or bench as much as I can in 3 sets of 10. When that becomes relatively easy, I move up 5 lbs and keep repeating the...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Finished House of The Dead: Overkill earlier tonight. I knew from reviews that the game had lots of cussing and crude humor, but it gets even more messed up than I imagined toward the end.

Re: Best Console Generation For RPGs?

Wait......your "enjoying" Phantasy Star III?!?!? Your a better person then me. I couldn't stand that game. It is almost completely void of anything resembling a story. But I have a feeling you'll enjoy Lunar Eternal Blue. That was the one that really turned my view on Lunar. Eternal Blue ...

Re: RPGamer SSH Impressions

With pretty much minimal advertising it's hard to get the game on most people's radar outside of word of mouth. Only fans seem to be aware of the game, and even then some don't even know. And even some of the fans say they're not getting it because it's not exactly like SSSC. I sometimes post at ga...

Re: RPGamer SSH Impressions

I'm just hoping that a significant number of people who didn't pre-order will buy the game when it's released.

Re: Anyone have any new year resolutions?

I've never really been one to make resolutions, but I do have some goals for this year: 1) Finally curl that 80 lb dumbell I bought years ago. So far, I've only managed to do 70 in one hand. 2) Go back to college and resume working on a degree. I did two years of local college after high school, but...

Re: Best Console Generation For RPGs?

As expected the 16 and 32-bit eras are the favored ones. For those who chose the 16-bit systems, I can certainly understand why. Games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI and Phantasy Star IV were aweseom. And, obviously, that's where the Lunar series first appeared. I'm playing and enjoying Phant...

I hope it goes well for you. Lunar certainly does have that inspriational quality to it. Perhaps one day you'll work on such a fine game yourself. 8-)

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Nothing at the moment, but I was playing the original Suikoden about a week ago. I am trying to get my wife to play it. So far she got to the village of Kaku and wants to stop playing. I've been trying to convince her that the game is about to get a lot better without giving away the fact that she ...

Re: Best Console Generation For RPGs?

PS1/N64, are you effing kidding me? Where the hell is Saturn on that list? N64 certainly didn't have crap as far as rpgs are concerned. What!? You didn't love Quest 64 and Aidyn Chronicles!? Neither did I. The bad part is that I remembered the Saturn right after I submitted the poll. *problem fixed...

That Magic Emperor getup does look pretty cool. Until now, I never realized how much he resembles Darth Vader.

Best Console Generation For RPGs?

Since these forums have plenty of adults who have been playing games since the 8-bit days (or longer), I'm curious which generation of consoles that most people here would consider the best for RPGs. Personally, I would say that the PS1 days had the most to offer. It had games from from great series...

What Are You Currently Playing?

Right now, I'm playing Metroid Trilogy on wii and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3. Nintendo announced that Metroid Trilogy will not have any more copies shipped (thus the price will never drop), so I finally caved in and bought it. I still enjoy the classic Metroid formula of new equipmen...

Re: Poor Sales in Japan?

That's probably due in large part to a lot of recent JRPGs being terrible, cookie-cutter, generic messes. Hell, even FF13 turned into a super-linear interactive movie. You just touched on something I've been thinking about since the PS2 days. A lot of RPGs are becoming movies with linear walking an...
