Not really active, but yes, he still has accounts and he may still reply to DMs. I've never had occasion to write.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I was diverted from my Lunar 2 Eternal Blue playthrough. I do plan to return, but the semester got busy and my sit-down focused gaming time virtually evaporated. Most of my playtime has been portable lately, excepting Like a Dragon Ishin a couple of months ago. I just beat Final Fantasy IV (Pixel Re...

Re: Finding Vic

The last I heard of Vic was last year in the lead-up to the Mega Drive Mini 2 release. Someone tagged Vic on Twitter about the inclusion of Lunar in releases outside of Japan. They claimed to have received a DM from him. Assuming that's true, I guess he's lurking but not public.

I always love seeing Lucia cosplay with the pendant. Pretty cool shirt, too! Well done.

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

I was sidetracked by the holidays, but over the past few days I've gotten back to Lunar 2. Thanks for the tip about Azado, Alunissage. I found it initially difficult to follow what was happening, but your summary helped me piece it together. The overall trope (unmarked houses are attacked at night) ...

Re: Decompiling Lunar 2 for PS1

A layman's explanation - when someone is making a program, they usually use a higher-level coding language, tools made for programmers to use to build that program. They do that because the actual instructions machines use (commands that directly tell the CPU what to do) are so tedious to do manuall...

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

So I've just finished Taben's Peak and Vane. A few notes: 1. I was surprised that there were bosses (or minibosses?) underneath Vane. I double-checked, and there is nothing like the Evil Eye or Fleshsucker in EBC. Fleshsucker especially has one of the most gruesome designs, and its petrification att...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Well, besides playing the Mega Drive Mini 2, I played and beat Pentiment. It is a dialogue/narrative-based game from Obsidian, telling the story of a small 16th century village and abbey in Bavaria, and the man (an aspiring artist, Andreas) who has visited to learn from the monks in the scriptorium....

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

I just got to Zulan, after getting Lemina, navigating that quite long mountain pass dungeon, and doing the whole Nota - Carnival - Mystic Ruins sequence. Those ruins are quite a maze, and I'm sure I missed some things merely by not double-tracking as I made progress. I did loop around the platform p...

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

Thank you for all the details you provided, Alunissage. I just went through the Illusion Woods, and mazelike is right. It tapped deep into my love of mazelike dungeons, as I double backed on my path at one point and still have no idea if I got every chest. I'll keep that tip about the manor in mind....

Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

Well, I'm playing the Sega CD Eternal Blue for the first time on the Mega Drive Mini 2*. I just got Ronfar and rescued Lucia from Leo. The big issue is that I don't know Japanese. I know some hiragana and katakana, so I can sight-read names. I can also notice basic words when spoken - when Hiro says...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I'm still waiting on my Mega Drive Mini 2. Until then, I've been playing Live A Live. I'm almost at the final boss. I appreciate the anthology of individual stories, their quirky experimentation with gameplay, and the way everything comes together toward the end. The only thing I dislike is that the...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

With my birthday money from family, I bought Sonic Origins. As an old-time Sonic fan, having the original games in yet another format wasn't a day 1 attraction, but even so I have been pleased with the results in a few ways. 1. The museum content is great. Good descriptions. Sound effects/music, mov...

Re: Lunar SSSC Full OST FLAC?

I'm curious whether the quality differences between MP3 and the original format are significant. Is this something that's only significant if you're an audiophile, or is there a lot of loss in the MP3 files? Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think requesting music is against the rules as it's illegal t...

Nice collage! I especially like the pixel art on top. I think if you stuck with the same style using pixel characters, it could be a really nice effect. I do have access to Photoshop, but I'm not very good at finishing. This is one I'm tooling around with as practice. I'd love to learn how to do the...

Re: Book of the Moment

Ahar, I be reading Galileo's Dream by Kim Stanley Robinson at a common tortoise pace. Think if it were a mid-life biography of Galileo but he also traveled through time or some curious thing. I also be feastin' on a regular diet of children's stories! One of me favorites is The Hungry Little Caterpi...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Avast! I still be plowing the high seas in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I be in chapter 5, and 75 hours in, I still be explorin' and findin' new sidequests. I am almost at the point where I'll walk the gangplank direct to the end, but I give a trove of goodwill for the game having the best side content o...

Yar, me child of four mostly prefers the big, flash-in-the-night videos like OK Go's Upside Down and Inside Out.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Oh wow, I played Monkey Island 4 on PC first, and I remember having to look at the PC mapping a lot. It was a big step down from point-and-click.

I'm still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I'm at least past the halfway point (in chapter 5). It may yet end up being my favorite XC game.
