Re: Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals (DS)
I'm curious about how Lufia would play as an action RPG. The closest I can picture is something like the Izuna games where the enemies still move with you. Actually that would be pretty cool.

Re: Hexyz Force and Sony Rant
I'm on Atlus' mailing list, and got an email that it came out in stores TODAY . Maybe there are more, but as far as I know this is the first game to hit the PSN store before the actual retailers. In a way it makes sense because the game has to be completed before manufacturing and if the steps neede...

Re: Hexyz Force and Sony Rant
...where to start? I even loved the Evolution games I loved Evolution on Dreamcast and there was a port to the Neo Geo Pocket Color that was pretty great too. As for the game itself, it's the best game I've played since LSSH. I've started the Levant story (the guy who looks like Soma from Dawn of So...

Hexyz Force and Sony Rant
http://www.atlus.com/hexyzforce/ I've been excited about this game for a while and wondered if anyone played it. I just bought it in the PSN store, but they updated that crappy Media Go client and the download is embarrassingly slow. Seriously it's like I'm on a dial-up and I have broadband. Everyt...

Re: Humble Indie Bundle
The platform generosity stat is kind of interesting.
They've raised over $500,000 in only a few days and there's less than 2 days left. The Penumbra game also has a special where donors can get the Penumbra collection for $5 which is pretty nice too.

http://www.wolfire.com/humble 5 Great games are available at a price that you set and the money goes to charity. How cool is that? The games are: World of Goo Aquaria Gish Lugaru HD Penumbra Overture This is actually the third copy of World of Goo that I've purchased, but really I can't support tha...

Re: XSEED helps another fanbase (ie. Ys 7 is coming)
Ys Oath in Felghana also came out for the Japanese psp. Between Chronicles, 7, and Oath it would be nice if something was localized (in addition to 7). The psp port of Ys VI wasn't very good, but the ps2 version was fun. On the psp they made the font really tiny, the graphics weren't as good and it ...

Re: Voice Acting
I don't mind bad VA. I mean, I survived games like Grandia, Koudelka and Legend of Dragoon to name a few. As in matter of fact, I kinda like VA in Grandia, haha. Of course, if possible, I'd prefer good VA like found in Tales of Vesperia and Persona 4. I loved the bad VA in Koudelka! The I'm-trying-...

Hiro Energy Drink
I was picking up this week's groceries and noticed that they are now stocking an energy drink called "Hiro" at my store. I'm sure it's got nothing to do with Lunar besides the name but their site went into detail about where the name Hiro comes from. According to their website: "Hiro,...

I'll look into Dungeon Seige. I really like that type of hybrid gameplay and it would be nice to have more than 1 series to play.

Re: World of Warcrap.
As popular as the Warcraft games are, I'm surprised Spellforce isn't a bigger series. gog.com has the first one with it's expansions for $10 and I've only been played it for a few hours but it's sort of a hybrid of a top-down rts rpg like Warcraft 3, and once you order your troops telling them where...

Re: iPhone games...
I have a very long commute, so I've become very familiar with iPhone games. If you like RPGs (it's a Lunar forum after all) Vay's port is pretty good, and while Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 2 are available the text is really small. Chaos Rings is a really good RPG by Squenix that looks, feels, an...

Re: Voice Acting
That's what really impressed me about Riviera: The Promised Land for PSP, the whole game is fully voiced over, and I like the voices, though there's a lag in the umd version due to slight load times. The psn version is great. I like the cheesy ps1 voice overs like in Grandia and Castlevania Sotn. Ob...

Re: Lunar SSH Merchandise?
Was there any specific reason why it didn't sell well in Japan, like more prominent titles being released at the same time or something? I've never played the japanese version of ssh, but the us version seemed to be well received. I guess what I'm trying to ask is if there's something about the game...

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Aside from the Virtual Boy, Nintendo's handhelds are very successful, and I don't think they would use the DS brand if thought it could flop.
I just hope this doesn't happen:

Re: GRANDIA PSOne Classic to be released on PSN tomorrow.
The second disc had it's moments (like the ridiculously difficult end boss) but it did kind of feel like they didn't know what to do with the story after a while. REALLY MINOR SPOILER SKIP IT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW: Grandia does a lot of little things well, but one of my favorites is they way the...
