Re: Custom Firmware
Lunar has an extremist core fanbase, and that is a fact. Of course you have level-headed fans and then you have zealots. The problem is that you're coming off as one of the zealots, just to the opposite extreme. I mean, it's okay to like and even defend most of the choices in the new localization. ...

Re: Played the Demo
Ditto. It's weird; most of the Japanese audio I've heard usually has women cast for high-pitched male characters, like children and baby dragons. Here, they seem to cast grown men for the same roles as often as not. Eh, not in most games. Women usually voice act young boys, at any rate. Brianne Sid...

Re: Played the Demo
It's in the final Japanese release, at least. It might be something XSEED's planning on addressing since it was one of the few major complaints, but I wouldn't really count on it. You get used to it after a while, and at least the music loop doesn't start over all the time, which would be even worse...

Make sure you get Tales of Destiny II with the Roman numeral. The one with the Arabic numeral is JP only and is the actual sequel to Destiny. ^.^;ShindoW wrote:I'll pick it up with Tales of Destiny 2 (Eternia) one day.

Re: Anyone played any of these?
Shortly after that I picked up Tales of Destiny and played several hours only to lose my time in the game through some dumb circumstance. Spouse and I started playing it again about 10 years later, got maybe halfway or so through the game, and got distracted. We'll get back to it someday, if we can...

Re: Game Informer Review
It's actually a relatively positive review, and while I'm sure many here agree that deviating from the linearity of the storyline is in most cases simply an unwelcome distraction, there are for some odd reason plenty of people out there who like dodging a lightning bolt a hundred times to get item X...

Re: Anyone played any of these?
I've played the Tales games and the Breath of Fire games, and while I own Threads of Fate, I still haven't managed to play through it. I know, I'm really behind. ^.^;

Re: LUNAR:SSH "On the Spot" PREVIEW plus LE Packaging Box!
Yeah, I'm the same way. I know they've used the emphasized -ar in the in-game dialogue, but I prefer to pronounce it as the actual word. It seems funky the other way.

Re: January interview with Iwadare
Eh, yes. What I'm saying is that Iwadare seems to indicate that he's doing the revamped music for the North American cutscenes when he says, "For the North American version, we also re-arranged and re-recorded the music for the cutscenes, so please check that out."

Re: January interview with Iwadare
I knew he'd played it for the soundtrack, but my point is that this seems to indicate that he also played it for the re-recording of the cutscene with Luna at the spring, which I felt was unfairly maligned around here as being amateurish. I think it sounds more natural.

Re: People living on the blue star?
@Jenner: I still don't see why it's impossible for the beastmen to have been in charge at one time. You act like the information had to be in the libraries, but it's not like you read every book there or that they outlined every event that had ever happened prior to The Silver Star. Perhaps the huma...

January interview with Iwadare
So, there was recently an interview with Iwadare about the extensive work he's done over the past year, and there's a brief mention of Silver Star Harmony. Chris: For the PSP's Lunar: Harmony of the Silver Star, you re-arranged and re-recorded all the music from Lunar: The Silver Star. How did you r...

Re: What About Lunar Eternal Blue Remake Again???
Just wanted to point some things out. ^.^; ... Tales of...games are mostly pretty terrible, as far as direction and writing are concerned (and I hear still worse things about translation), but seeing has how it's the original, Phantasia works, especially for PSX, far and away the best version. Er, y...

Re: Overly formal language is overly formal...
Here Vic is talking about Wind's Nocturne (Luna's boat song) and how he says in the old games he translated them literally (um, no you didn't "TSS") and how he changed the lyrics completely in SSSC to make the songs sound better. I'm not arguing with this, because I liked Wind's Nocturne ...

Re: What About Lunar Eternal Blue Remake Again???
The fan translated PSX version is definitely the best. The GBA version is still okay and playable, but the localized version is pretty badly hampered by a strikingly awful translation effort from the now defunct Bowne Global Solutions. The fan translated SFC version is also kind of okay, but the bat...

Re: Updates on Voice Actors? (English)
Hm, so, not sure if anyone noticed, but Royce , Phacia , and Laike are up on YouTube. I really like Royce, and I know Joe J. Thomas will bring life to Laike, particularly in his funnier scenes. It's odd that Phacia's voice actress is the same as Jessica's (or at least I think they're both Michelle R...

I'm fairly sure Dyne is Joe J. Thomas. I recognized him pretty immediately. While he's a little odd for Dyne, I think he'll be great for his counterpart. ^.^;
Oh, and thanks for the clips!

Re: What About Lunar Eternal Blue Remake Again???
Most companies have stuck with making rpgs on handhelds this generation because it's cheaper for them, which is also another reason for a lot of mediocre games. They're not trying to do much in the way of progression. They've stuck to handhelds because they're more financially successful, so there'...
