Re: Life is Strange

Just found this topic. Haven't played the prequel yet. Warren kissers are trash. Warren made me really uncomfortable. I've been irl tangled up with boys like that when I was younger, dumber and too chicken to set boundaries. Ugh. I ditched Warren a lot. But not every time, like I needed to remind my...

Re: where is SoMoGa and the lunar sega cd upgrade that promised?

Did SoMoGa ever actually talk about this, or is it all just conjecture based on the files found in the game? SoMoGa apparently talked early on about adapting the both the remake and the Sega CD versions, but at this point it seems like that was a pipe dream. Given their work on Vay, their take on T...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

These are pretty pervasive! I feel like I should have noticed that the WD version has full-on sepia, but nope, didn't catch it. I do remember the some of the audio stuff - never could quite decide how I felt about Ghaleon's ticking clock. (Is it too on-the-nose, or is it just the accent that scene n...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

This is an excellent project! I wish you luck with this, and with Magic School. Q: Will you translate the VCD version? A: YES! I'm planning on releasing patches for both versions, so the six other people with VCD cards have something to look forward to. After all this time, a second reason to own an...

Re: A few corrections for lunar-net.com

A quick note about the voice card - it's a promotional goodie handed out to people at TGS 2009 when they played the demo of HoSS.

Kizyr, I trust you have All the Lunar and do not require any assistance in documenting it from flakes like me? (I'm trying to turn over a new leaf.)

Re: English script

I'm pretty sure it was me, since I have the SSS Japanese text. You do? If I had that, it would make it so much easier to test my hypothesis that there is additional dialog in the Blue Dragon Cave in Harmony of Silver Star! But considering that I've wondered about it for years and never tried to che...

Re: Sad day

Wow you guys, that is very sad. I came close to losing the contents of a storage unit a few years back and that was plenty stressful enough without the actual loss. While not remotely as sad as losing all my goodies, I sometimes mount futile efforts to find my lost set of those little figure keychai...

Re: Final Fantasy XV

I go back and forth on the story overall. I think the game's inability to convey more of the world's present situation is a problem, especially since that political situation is so central to the core storyline. I know next to nothing about the game, having observed about 15 mins of it, but the rev...

Re: This Christmas: The Wham! Challenge

I'm glad to see this thread revived. I think about this every year too, and I lost earlier this week. It was good to hear the original. A cover version seems to be increasingly popular over the last couple of years, but I don't think it compares all that favorably to WHAM!

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I got Pokemon Moon. It goes without saying that it is very entertaining, but I think it's killing/exacerbating the decline of my 2DS -- without even getting into the lag that goes along with this combination of software and hardware. Upgrading is definitely in my future. I resumed Animal Crossing Ne...

I haven't watched as much of it as I would like (the notorious production troubles may be dampening my enthusiasm,) but it starts out beautiful and I find the character designs in particular very inviting.

Like I've seen them before or something...

Re: Lunar's dragons origin in ancient Chinese cosmology?

My theory... I don't think it's a direct and intentional reference. But dragons have figured in Chinese and Japanese folklore and mythology for ages, and hence they -- that is, Chinese and Japanese-style dragons -- have been fixtures in RPGs for decades now. Things being divided into fours -- four ...

Yay! Pop Culture Refs in WD Games!

I pulled out Magic Knight Rayearth last weekend. It's such a nice little game, and it had been years since I last played it. While flipping though the instruction booklet, I found an Oingo Boingo reference that made me laugh out loud. Something like "Monsters love little girls, they make them f...

Yes, Funato had some very sharp things to say about the EB remake animation. I think it's in one of her sketchbooks, and I know it's in one of the PDFs she released. Shiva Indis used to have that page as her user icon here. I'm sad to see that I've missed out on this thread all these months but I w...

Re: Conquering Your Enemy

The only reason Borgan is a threat at all is because he's involved in the whole evil god restoration conspiracy, an aspect of the plot that Lemina is not tied into very strongly. Borgan on his own is pathetic and not worth Lemina's trouble. So I suppose her accomplishment where he is concerned is no...

All the Lunar Observations

I recently acquired All the Lunar, the hard-to-find disk of desktop apps. I was digging around in the files and discovered some things I'd never seen any mention of before. There are a number of video clips on the disk, which are encoded very cleanly despite having an obnoxiously low frame rate. Mor...
