I have been following this latest mess Jack has made with great interest, and I can say with greater certainty than ever that he's a stooge. I find he way he shot himself in the foot with his "modest proposal" very appropriate. The man is astonishingly easy to bait, and the more our fellow proponent...

The melodies of Tsu Ba Sa (opening) and Wind's Nocturne (boat song) are written out in the Silver Star Story artbook, but that's all I know of. I'm sure you can sound out that tune (does WD call it Golden Voice?) with a little practice though.

You've already got Gankutsuou?? I'm still waiting, and I even preordered it... A connection between Kubooka and Gonzo would make sense - after all, Gonzo produced the animation for SSS and the EB remake. I'd be great to know if there is a relationship between them. At any rate it's cool to hear what...

I found proof.

It was sitting there on my own website and I wasn't aware of it. Mahou Gakuen's spinecard translates to "Lunar Gaiden arrives on Sega Saturn!!"

Interesting Resource on Emulation

I found an article explaning why console/arcade games don't display quite right on PC, and what you can do to improve it. The author claims it's dull, but I have to disagree. I think some Genesis family emulators (Gens in particular) are already optimized for this, but I've noticed a marked improvem...

The PSP has it's defects - it just doesn't have any that Sony (as represented by Kutaragi) is apologetic about.

It seems to be one of those games that look better in motion.

But unlike most games that look better in motion, DQ8 looks great in screenshots too.

*Fingers crossed on my slime keychain(s)*

While the Making Of video is playing, switch in the Xenogears disk. I assume the system will search the disk until it finds similar video. It'll run through everything on the given Xenogears disk, and on the 2nd disk (I think) there is a portion that looks like an unused alternate credit sequence wi...

I've wanted a full soundtrack ever since I picked up a bootleg of that other vaguely arranged one. You have done us an excellent service - .oggs even!

People can stand by their Sony and Microsoft loyalties all they want, but when they charge 400-500 for their new systems, especially when Sony has a shoddy rep with launch products, I give them a resounding "hell no". I'll get them eventually, but not for a year or two at those prices. Amen to that...

Because whoever came up with the possible names for that poll was an idiot trying to be cutesy? That gets my vote. For recap's sake, the choices were Scarlet Sun, Ashen Dawn, Shattered Dawn, Dragon Song, and Dark Skies. (Right?) In the end, not a one of them was all that appropriate. Ashen Dawn or ...

If you've gone temporarily blind or temporarily crazy, if you're half-dead or even turned to stone, they'll save you. But if you're poisoned, well, tough luck.

How does that make any sense?? :?

BTW, do you think that many of Althena's priests and priestesses are fairies in disguise?

I just noticed an action RPG that Taito has in the works called Lost Magic that might be interesting. Different combinations of runes which you draw in form different spells. The art direction and character designs come from a verteran of Studio Ghibli and the World Masterpiece Theater anime institu...

New magazines have information about the party members in Children of Mana. Their names sound like a certain set of breakfast cereal mascots, but they seem very reminicient of the characters in Secret of Mana. If there's no multiplayer, then hell will freeze over. There is no other option. m ...Rice...

The 500 years ago banishment is mentioned in TSS, and its good to know that it stayed in SSS, but I don't find it particularly contradictory. Provided that we assume some of the details given in TSS still apply. There's nothing about banishment in the TSS Magic Empire legend, and it assumes that the...

I do have that artbook, and I happen to have it at arm's reach at the moment. All of those drawings are really creative, and most of them are really dynamic and exciting-looking. I really like the image of the dragon on the mounds of books and such, but the comment isn't enlightening at all. However...

I just think I had heard this before because I remember when I FIRST heard of it I thought about that picture in the SSSC booklet of the rather tall old man with the gold chains who had Luna floating to his side and Alex (as a Dragonmaster) in front of him ready to fight and Kyle comotose on the st...

Ignatius said Jian was a Dragonmaster. At least, in the Japanese version he did. He could've been trying to mislead Jian, of course, but to what end? Ignatius hardly needs to make excuses for himself about eliminating his opposition. It's unlikely that the dragon equipment (a la Dyne and Alex) or Al...

I'm eager to see the finished product. Good Luck! Now for your costume check. This will be difficult to describe because, um, wow, what a costume. But I will try.
