Re: Jenner's Guide to "Getting" Girls.

now, i'm not exactly sure why you're apologizing, or what assumptions you think i'm putting on you. if the "nice guy syndrome" described in the link does not match what you do, then by all means, disregard it. but i felt i should throw it out there just in case. because i've known lots of ...

Re: Jenner's Guide to "Getting" Girls.

lots of one-sided bitterness from a boy perfectly willing to lump half the human race into one stereotype. http://www.heartless-bitches.com/rants/niceguys/ng.shtml that's for you. i obviously don't know you personally, but whenever i hear boys ramble on like that, i start hearing my father, drunk o...

Re: Jenner's Guide to "Getting" Girls.

However, that is merely my opinion and anymore it is fine and dandy if women want to wear it. Mostly because I got tired of thinking it was good of me to like the natural look and defend the whole 'no need for make-up bit' only to be attacked as a male pig. Odd. Anyway, yeah. most women feel they H...

Re: Jenner's Guide to "Getting" Girls.

i did a double take at the "blond" bit too. my brother is currently dating a (sweet, serious, level-headed and intelligent) blond sociologist. look, guys. basically--and this is what i told the man who is now my husband, on one of our early dates--you NEED to be yourself for one key reason...

Re: Bush got the boot!

nobody's going to assassinate bush. he's rich enough to afford his own bodyguards. and yes, texans have guns. but that doesn't mean they run around murdering whatever political figure they don't like.

Re: Happy Holidays

According to Catholic Doctrine, December 25th is the right date by default. Catholics have an 'infallibility' doctrine concerning faith and morals. That is, when the Pope teaches something about faith or morals, God prevents him from screwing up. This only applies to matters of faith...the pope can...

Re: Happy Holidays

you know--christmas is a cultural thing, not just a religious holiday now. if it were purely religious, there'd be no santa in the first place, and the whole country wouldn't shut down for it. it would also be celebrated in spring/summer--i can't recall the date the scholars say christ was actually ...

Re: Happy Holidays

well, you know, at some point someone pointed out to businesses that not everyone celebrates christmas. the businesses went "oops! well, we don't want to alienate anyone with money--we'll just say happy holidays." and then the fussier christians flipped their dragon poop and started scream...

Re: Drawing slump. Halp.

do you have a deviantart account? i was always private about my drawings--they were honestly a passive aggressive way of getting people to leave me alone (can't you see i'm busy?). and then i joined deviantart, and i have to say, attention is nice . be active on it and you're guaranteed some comments.

Re: Drawing slump. Halp.

seconding sonic on this. whenever i'm in a slump, i draw through it. which is painful, as turning out crap is never enjoyable. but, if you play with exercises, a change of style, etc, you learn as you go. so, it's not a waste.

i saw that skit, phyco. it was GREAT. which naturally means that mccain's mouthpieces are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-GL7c5xzBI calling it sexist.

Re: McCain selects running mate

Why the hell would you want that? That's an awkward subject to hear about from your mother. If I had to hear my MOM talk about sexual things it'd have to sound all kinds of clinical. There's nothing clinical about head. i'm pretty sure all she told us was that it was a sex act. my mother would rath...

Re: McCain selects running mate

lulz maru. the sad thing is, there's so much ELSE wrong with this woman, that there's no need to mention bristol. seriously. i feel bad for the girl, because there's no way in hell that girl actually had a choice (no matter what the republicans claim. which is also questionable--why stress that bris...

Re: McCain selects running mate

my mother, despite 8 years of george bush, still thinks bill clinton is the worst thing to happen to the country. because the coverage of that scandal meant she had to explain to her children what a blowjob is. frankly, i'm much more traumatized by the patriot act, the iraq war, and sarah palin than...

heh. can't help you! but i can sympathize. back in college, there was this massive construction site near the dorms that i passed every day to and from class. i wanted so badly to sneak in and just run around. chief reason i didn't: the risk of getting caught and expelled.

my in-laws' whole neighborhood is fireworks obsessed. we've been going there the last few years for a fairly impressive (and illegal) fireworks display. the rest of the day, i spent sketching my own stuff instead of my work stuff. it was lovely.

i do like johhny depp, but it's more lately that he's consistently picking films i would want to see anyway, and making them better (willy wonka, pirates, etc). reasons to see sweeney todd: 1) eric's been raving about this play for years 2) musical! 3) cheesy gore! 4) depp 5) helena bonham-carter 5)...
