I think one thing about Lunar is that you have to use support magic to increase defense and attack. A lot of modern JRPGs (thinking FF specifically) don't require that. In my first playthrough I had to learn how to do that before I could get past the Saline Slimer.

This board needs a common enemy to rally against. We'll either call it the Lelouch plan or the Benevolent_Ghaleon plan. Whichever seems more appropriate.

It was pretty great. This season was the first time I feel like they actually accomplished integrating modern themes into the Avatar setting.

I bought it for 60 dollars back in the day, played through it and re-sold it a few months later for $50 to put money down towards a Dreamcast: Clearly a sound investment that lead to years of great games ...
