Re: Jess's Mom

I took a peek through the TSS Meribia and Mel's Mansion text a few nights ago and confirm that no reason is given. Someone does say that she died when Jess was very young. SSS might have comments from Jess on whether she actually remembers her mom, but it's much harder for me to check that. Regardin...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

More Breath of the Wild last night. 726 Koroks found, 174 to go... I may finally break down and get the Korok Mask sometime.

Re: Jess's Mom

Well, it's only one line, easily missable. She says it after you return from Grimzol's Cave but before you use the Goddess Seal to cure the disease. I think that's the only reference to her father. In the garden at the top of the Grindery Mia remarks on how kind Ghaleon was to her when she was a chi...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

Cool! I've been looking at the Japanese script and thinking about making some notes on flags, if I have the stamina for it. I really need more time and energy. >_<

Re: Jess's Mom

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've never seen anything about what she died from. I *think* there's a mention of Jessica being with her mom, though, so that would rule out childbirth. The Japanese TSS guide has some backstory Shiva Indis summarized for us years ago (2005!) about Mel as a pirate and how he an...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

My husband is back to chewing through Xenogears, slowly. I wish I could remember what was going on better.

I've been playing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp on my phone, and New Leaf on my 3DS. Also Hyrule Warriors Legends on my 3DS. Hoping to finally get to my Breath of the Wild DLC this weekend.

Re: Our cat is pretty great.

Fun little cat update Chez Alunissage. We are now managing Rhombus's diabetes more directly, meaning blood glucose tests before every shot and several times during the day. Unfortunately, home testing means pricking his ear to get blood, which he quite reasonably doesn't like. His complaint meow sou...

Re: Lunar memes

I never really have understood memes. I mean, I get why they exist. I just don't get why they're so popular. Likewise with most gifs on Twitter. Good thing for the rest of you that my taste doesn't rule all, eh? =)

Re: I visit this site once and [sic] a while because...

Because I like Lunar olds as well as news. When I get ancient Japanese magazines with early TSS artwork and screenshots, I know there are people here who will think it's as neat as I do. Unfortunately, since we're all pretty much grown up, our schedules don't line up all that well. And, because quit...

Re: My LUNAR Collection

It's definitely neater than mine.

BTW, watch out for the red foil on the TSS and SSSC manual/box fading. This has happened to mine, purely from indirect light. :( The other colors are fine, and the non-foil reds are fine, but the red foil itself seems to be unstable.

Re: What are your thoughts on Star Wars: The Last Jedi (WARNING! SPOILERS DISCUSSED HERE!)

I basically agree with Sonic and G1. I liked it. It's kind of amusing how pretty much every thing that goes wrong is because Poe was trying to be a standard male hero and Screwed Everything Up. And costing many many lives. Honestly, I don't know why Holdo didn't just airlock him for that. The most a...

I'll try to remember to check. I don't think there were any drawings that weren't in the Lunar I+II artbook, but I'll see.

Wow, this is totally cool. And I also have the MPEG card. ^_^ I keep meaning to play this game with it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet other than verifying it works.

Re: SSST *not* going away soon (title updated!)

Sorry. I don't consider that a personal attack (saying someone's complaining vs calling someone a complainer is the distinction I'd make), but my wording was ill-chosen and I probably was attributing other peoples' sentiments to you. Or simply to "most of it is utter trash and muck" which ...

They actually have a 64-bit beta that's being sent around to test. I actually missed seeing this in between jay_are's and Shinto-Cetra's complaining, which I scroll past rather quickly. Thanks for the news! jay_are, could you try not to quote giant pics in your replies? We only need to see them onc...

Re: What Would You Like To Learn More Of?

Remember, Gwyn, couldn't even get into the Blue Spire until he went with Hiro, because he didn't have the other Dragon Eye needed to open it. So he probably doesn't know much about its function besides what he observed there. And, of course, in the original SegaCD game, it's revealed that it's also ...
