Re: Last Anime?

I still have my VHS copy of Perfect Blue. When it originally came to the US Manga Entertainment published it alongside some other hyped movies they published like X. That was a good time period for anime as a lot of anime movies were shown in select theaters (Ghost in the Shell, X, etc). I have the ...

Re: Langrisser remakes

Sans some ROMs I've dabbled in I've never really got the chance to enjoy Langrisser so I'm pretty excited for this when I heard a PS4 remake was coming. That comparison of Urushihara's to Ryou Nagi's designs makes me realize why I enjoy Urushihara so much. Any arguments against the practicality of t...

Re: I have 23 gaming consoles now....lol

I have the room for all my games and consoles now but I'm not as in-tuned into displaying them all in the gaming den as I probably could be. I think a lot of it too is I simply don't play the old stuff as much anymore. As example I have a '78 four switch model Atari 2600 but how many times am I real...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Edit: AkagisWhiteComet, where did yo get this glitch in-game? I'm hoping I've passed it, I've played 23 hours so far. It's been well over a decade since I played it but if memory serves me right it was during some sort of recollection scene involving the MC's familiar character narrating on a blank...

Hajime Sato's Storyboards

Hajime Sato has a lot of credits for Game Arts titles to his name, including roles for the various iterations of the LUNAR games. In particular he was the Scenario Storyboard artist for LUNAR Silver Star Story. If you have flipped through the instruction manual or the now-difficult-to-find strategy ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I hate I never finished Grandia II. I bought it on the PC when it had a price drop, and my copy had a strange bug some hours into the game where it wouldn't advance a text box during a black screen recollection scene. I never could get the issue resolved and thus did not play it any further. A shame...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I had to file a warranty claim for my Logitech G29 racing wheel setup. It took around three weeks to get resolved. Logitech is a strange company to deal regarding warranty claims with but they came through enough to send me an entirely new setup which is good for me as it cost $260. Since I got the ...

Re: Lunar Genesis Strategy Guide Get!

I'd be interested if any unique artwork or assets were used for the text. We don't seem to come across a lot of art assets of LUNAR Genesis/Dragon Song sans cover and character guides.

Re: Lunar fan game...

My opinion, I believe 'range' as an aspect is important in RPGs, and out of most of the various RPG aspects that have developed and evolved it's one that often seems to go through a lot of concepts and iterations. Even the Final Fantasy series has had a range aspect starting with IIRC IV (II) where ...

Re: Last Anime?

Bit of a rant but I recently got on a binge and watched Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory. I’ve seen the previous seasons of FMP, even Fumoffu which I loved (considering the opening is like my favorite anime opening lol) and literally everything just got turned up to 11. And I love it. I think a ...

Re: Differences between Sega and PS1 Versions

Ha! Yeah probably not the best choice of words. I can elaborate on that. She lost some of her head strong-ness at that scene. Sans a few moments with Alex everything leading up to the Luna/Ghaleon meeting in SSSC shows a really high strung Luna. She has a lot to say, often accompanying a lot of snap...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I had a lot of gaming sessions with my infant on my shoulder. Now that I think about it that was the only way I was able to play through MGS Phantom Pain. Play for two hours, wake the kid up, play again later. At the moment I just bought Tales of Zestiria and Senran Kagura Estival Versus as they're ...

Re: Differences between Sega and PS1 Versions

It's a bit hearsay on my part because I'm making a strong assumption on what the scenario writers were thinking but I feel a possible reason why the meeting scene with Luna and Ghaleon played out the way it did in SSSC as opposed to TSS is - obviously this SHOULDN'T be a spoiler given what we're tal...

Re: What is Canon?

It is a difficult question. Personally and it's an opinion of mine I consider canon the final versions of each title. I guess in my case; Dragon Song Walking/Magic School Silver Star Harmony Eternal Blue Complete Even with that logic there's still some things that aren't taken into consideration or ...

Re: Making this thread so that I can ask questions that probably have short answers

This version you've attached here is a cropped version of the source material, which if I'm recalling correctly was also a poster in Japan. The source is a large vertical image with Luna's reflection and the Blue Star fully visible on the bottom. I believe it's both used as a side bar image on LUNAR...

Re: Last Anime?

The .hack games are better than SAO for me. I think what gets to me also is there's just so much focus on the harem aspect of SAO; it's really thrown into your face. Not that there's anything wrong with that, except it kind of "removes" yourself from the MMO aspect. It'd be like if a MMO-t...

Re: All The Lunar- Physical photos + Summary Post

Every time I see this referenced I"m fascinated by it simply because it seems like a true "product of it's time" but also something that had you given it to a LUNAR fan around Y2K they would have probably had a real blast. Does this mostly use the remakes assets? Like is there any new...

Re: Last Anime?

Rewatching Record of Lodoss War to satiate the lack of real Elves in modern anime (Deedlit<3). Anything with Japanese high school Elves or MMO Elves doesn't count. Crunchyroll got the recent re-release of Record of Lodoss War OVAs. I haven't seen it since Sci-Fi used to broadcast the first four OVA...

Re: Last Anime?

If anyone has Amazon Prime Wotakoi is turning out to be pretty good and is one of my picks for this season. It's about an otaku girl and guy who are childhood friends but reunite when they start working at the same office. The girl has a bit of a bad streak with a boyfriend who finds out about her b...
