Re: Hi all! Back again, missing old times.

Welcome back! Always good to see folks return and post a bit, no matter how long a gap (or how sporadic they post as is my case...)

Re: Classic RPG Vay remastered is coming

At last! We'll get to play as Heiberger again!

From what I recall the Vay mobile version hews closer to the original dialog (for better or worse, it wasn't necessarily a groundbreaking story). Been at least 15 years since I played either the English or Japanese version of Vay however.

Re: Dyne’s monument secret chest

I feel like I vaguely remember seeing this but completely forgot about it.

But nope, definitely a chest. ...I wonder if anyone's gone into the game data to figure out if it's an actual chest (instead of just the sprite image) and what it contains?

Re: Hi, Hope Everyone is Doing Well!

Welcome back!

Because of so many things happening, I barely have time to jump in here like once a month (apart from just reading comments) but I'd love for things to get more active. Especially as... most other social media, and even Discord, is pretty draining for me.

Haha awesome! Congrats on the game release and this is a fantastic plug, both for the game and getting in a little Lunar 2 reference.

Re: Lunar's Magic System

Lunar seems to mix together several elements for magic's origins: - Magic exists as a general entity/force throughout the world. Evidenced by: between TSS and EB, Althena's power was spread throughout the world and magic more ubiquitous by EB's time; around Zophar's corporeal return all the magic wa...

Re: A Question regarding The Main Antagonist (SPOILERS)

I mean... oddly enough this is a very common trope in anime/JRPGs, so it's surprising that this was never hinted at in Lunar as something that happened. The revival just... happened. Since the intro post is tagged as spoiler I'll continue in normal text. So EB/EBC imply that Zophar returned himself,...

Re: 5 Princes of the Black Star

Sometime in the next year I'd love to do a replay through all of Lunar from start-to-finish, I think it's been at least 8 years since I last played a Lunar game. Also even now my Japanese is far better than it was the last time I played any of the Japanese games. (Still remembering how in the time b...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

Well I've been getting some older games to go through lately: Castlevania (NES), SimCity (SNES), Rescue Rangers (NES), etc. But I think it's finally time to go through Celeste as it's been on my list for ages. Also, Venba and Thirsty Suitors are out and I haven't yet had time to play either, really ...

Re: Something in Regards to Magic School Lunar [SPOILER]

Hey! So to reply (and let's see if spoiler tags work still): For the actual *game* (both the Saturn MS and Game Gear WS), there wasn't any identity for the Blue Dragon aside from "the Blue Dragon". And really compared to SSS, the personality is completely different: the WS/MS Blue Dragon c...

Re: Crypto currency

I haven't seen many new ones go up, but did see plenty during the 2020-2021 bubble. My guess is that most of them were already there, just they're more highlighted now (it's no cost really to make sure they show up on Google Maps, e.g.) to pull more people in. But it's not impossible that there's so...

Does it pick up later? I'm honestly not sure why. The game looks like something I'll really go for on all points, but something just... fully failed to hook me. I might still return to it one day.

Re: Crypto currency

To be fair, M. Bison's plan to kidnap the Queen was at least more honest. And like, he actually wants to use it as a currency and not a speculative investment while lying about its use as a currency. Because the bottom of the market mostly fell out, you're not hearing about it as much as before (and...

Ok I'm actually curious about Snatcher too! It's one of my favorite SCD games.

Are there any notable skips though? Or is it just a matter of knowing the exact minimum number of menu items to select and beelining through that?

I still have the Arc the Lad collection... completely unopened. I know it'd be worth a ton if I decided to part with it but I really do mean to play it one day soon. Though it's that, Growlanser, and Vanguard Bandits as the 3 main Working Designs-localized RPGs that I have yet to play.

Re: Ghaleon's height?

Honestly that all seems pretty good estimates to me. Though... Ghaleon's stature may be in part because of his armor, I feel like he'd be up for boots that add another 5-10cm to his height XD Looking at the artbooks, I can't see anywhere where their heights are actually mentioned or estimated. But I...

Re: The Grindery is better than the Death Star

Grindery has fairies. Death Star also lost its luster after the same concept was reintroduced 3-4 times throughout the series. Although Rogue One was pretty enjoyable leading right up to delivering the first Death Star plans to Leia, but every subsequent one was underwhelming since it's just a "...

Re: Lunar 2 Japanese dub is SO much better.

So this is a fascinating question since if you ask me there's lots of good (and pluses/minuses) for both the Japanese and US voice casts, and I find it really interesting to see who prefers which VA for each role and why -- and that a lot of times it's really close and comes down to some individual ...
