Re: broken ssh link

Thanks for the spot! We'll be trying to get more regular on updates going into next year. Now that my schedule is a little more regular, I want to finally revise the remaining non-game sections too, and I'd like to look into... modernizing the site a little (I don't want to make too many promises th...

Re: This upcoming movie has a hilariously bad knockoff Grindery

It gave me more of a Howl's Moving Castle sort of vibe.
...also, eh, I'm definitely uninterested. But I got some friends who are looking forward to it. Who knows, could turn out to be weirdly fun, like Waterworld, or comically bad, like Waterworld. KF

Re: Is Mystere a separate character from Leo?

So I'm playing Lunar: Eternal Blue(SCD), and one NPC says something that adds support to this. Screen Shot 2018-11-28 at 12.12.06 PM.png It's official: Final Fantasy VI and Lunar (the series) take place in the same universe  I don't know if we ever confirmed it, but yeah I do really think that...

Re: An anomaly in the Lunar series

Adding on something. The EB novelization, volume 3 chapter 34, is where the Fake Althena's background was brought up. Here's the clip here (I actually liked this backstory so tried to translate more than simply summarize): Chapter 34: False Althena / Real Althena There was once a girl gifted with be...

Re: Four heros

I found my incomplete doc of quotations from TSS about the Four Heroes. Here are some excerpts that relate to your questions. An interesting thing to note is that someone in Marke indicates that Ghaleon looked up to Dyne, and I think in general there's the implication that Dyne was the older/more s...

Hey, do you have like an inventory of what's damaged (at least damaged beyond being salvageable)? Some folks may be able to help by pointing out when some hard-to-get stuff shows up on eBay. KF

Hey, y'all in the US, vote today. Thanks.

(There's so much more I'm doing/saying elsewhere on this, but, eh, this is one of the less-active forums so I'll leave it at that.) KF

Flora: All right, to get to [our next destination] we need to do this/go here first. Jian or Gabryel: Wow! How did you know that??? Re: Vile tribe

You know, I thought "inherit the wind" (which I eventually extracted from Google Translate) sounded familiar, but I didn't remember where from. Yeah I translated the title more specifically as "Heir to the Wind" (mostly because I didn't want to translate it partly as the title o...

Re: Vile tribe

First really quick, as others have said, Vile Tribe in the English is 魔族/Mazoku in the Japanese, consistently. Sucks that the translation was given in TSS before they got more nuance, but, that's what we're stuck with. If we could change the past I would've opted for something like "arcane"...

Re: Who is your favorite?

Generally speaking, my favorite characters in JRPGs are rarely the protagonist or the villain. A lot of protagonists of the 90s-00s are the silent type, and even when they break the mold there's a lot of that silence left in them (e.g., even Hiro, whom I generally like, had less development than any...

Re: Song of the moment

Metal (in general and any of the 565 subgenres) isn't really my thing, but I don't dismiss any genre altogether, so there are often a few exceptions. Here's a couple that I found from an Indian metal group named Bloodywood. The first is an original with a really gorgeous music video (shot in the cou...

Re: Four heros

If you're ever curious about the Japanese differences, I've compiled all the dialogue and gameplay differences for TSS, EB, SSS, and EBC on LunarNET here. There's some scattered info about the Four Heroes and past Dragonmasters that didn't get reflected in all of the English dialogue: http://www.lun...

Wow, I'm... I'm really sorry to hear. I'm glad you survived, but you're right I think many of us here can sympathize with how it feels to lose things that we have a strong emotional connection to, especially things that other folks might disregard as just entertainment. KF

Re: An anomaly in the Lunar series

Yeah, the novelization mentioned that Fake Althena was mostly driven by selfishness and fear (of getting old and dying), and thus fell into being easily used and manipulated by Zophar. Not that it necessarily excuses her, but it seems clear that she let herself be used as a pawn in exchange for what...

Re: New user, Hi to you all!

Hey welcome to the forums! You're not the first I've seen who's introduction to the series was Lunar: Legend. Honestly as much as it paled in comparison to the Sega CD and Playstation games, it was still pretty good in its own right (I mean there's a reason I spent enough time to write a walkthrough...

Seriously, iOS is weird.

Like, aside from the title, there's nothing backend that should be tying this to "Request Desktop Site". KF

Re: Selling consoles and games

Thanks a bunch. Is there any place you recommend looking to find out what the items are ACTUALLY worth? Ebay has prices all over the place but I want to be fair and actually get stuff sold, not just put it up at too high a price No problem. Unfortunately... there aren't really solidly reliable pric...

Re: Selling consoles and games

I mean, eBay is the most accessible, and it offers some protection if the buyer tries to back out of or cancel payment (and if a seller tries to back out of sending the goods). If you don't mind the risk, it'd be a good idea to first sell some of the things that'd be more appealing to a specific fan...

Been listening to this one lately. Liked it so much that I just bought Mokobé's two previous albums. KF
