Re: Dyne’s monument secret chest

It contains the Dark Scimitar, of course! We'll just need to use the previously undiscovered Mia Bug to glitch the game out and get it and...

Amazing find! I can't believe I never noticed that.

Re: The Grindery is better than the Death Star

Ghaleon's Mechanical Castle is the greatest of weapons and such a cool dungeon, especially in TSS! While Laputa-originated flying cities like Vheen/Vane became a common appearance in RPGs, I'm surprised the castle has never been imitated, even in steampunk productions like FFVI. I do like how Vheen ...

Re: Nall Plush

Good advice, though you'll want to substitute ルーナ (Luna) for ルナ (LUNAR) so you don't search for nonexistent Luna dolls. The katakana transcription is a little unusual. You could also occasionally add ぬいぐるみ for stuffed animal, too. Unfortunately, you'll be more likely to find dolls of Luna the cat fr...

Re: Lunar 2 Japanese dub is SO much better.

the original idea of Ghaleon`s voice is more "deep" But the only version where Ghaleon was ever cast with a deep voice was Japanese SSS. In TSS, EB, and EB remix it's always Naya, whose eerie, wavering, and sneering voice is only in slight contrast to Truitt's more nasal, sneering voice, ...

Re: The Statues/Pictures in the Sanctuary

Absolutely wild side note on the statue design that I’d never noticed after nearly two decades: EB (and SSS) world/visual designer Satou’s comment notes the cloth-covered disc behind Althena, also part of the engraving; no one has ever seen underneath, but it’s said to be the figure of Zophar! So it...

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

Realize I missed this the first time. But I just wanted to comment that this is exactly why Chance Dice is my favorite spell. I'll use it all the time. Will it help me, hurt me, be pointless, who knows?! Point is, someone is about to have a really good time and someone is about to have a really bad...

Ha! You can get one on Mercari or similar for 5000Y=$50, so that is a royal scam they are pulling on ebay, especially since with modern proxy services you can have auctions/used items shipped abroad easily.

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

I am so glad you are enjoying it! The extra animations in Pentagulia and the Dragon Caves make such an enormous difference to me. Everywhere they went missing in the remake felt "cheap" to me, even if the originals were just a few frames...that's still more frames than the character portra...

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

Excellent progress! Since the additions in EB remix were so few, it made the subtractions all the more glaring, including all the missing bosses: that includes the ghouls in the old Vheen trial cave, where they should be, as well as Sieg the Risen (Phantom Sentry), the gunslinger you fought in the m...

Re: Playing through JP Eternal Blue: Things to Know?

Good man, you chose the superior Mega Drive Mini 2, even if you have to slog through in a language you don't know! That is some impressive grit, like the Americans who used to dedicatedly fight their way through glorious Final Fantasy V before it was ever translated. Better still, you are playing th...

Re: Lunar SSSC Full OST FLAC?

I'm not aware of any FLAC version since that's not how the files were originally stored. The best source you'll find as rips from the disc are output into the PSF format, and you can find a pre-made collection on Zophar.net here: https://www.zophar.net/music/playstation-psf/lunar-1-silver-star-story...

Re: TSS and EB re-released on Mega Drive Mini 2 in October!

I feel sorry to confirm for English-speaking fans that the Mega CD Lunars are indeed missing from the shabby US version of the Mega Drive Mini 2 that lacks 1/3 of the titles and all the best ones, but I would still strongly recommend importing the Japanese version from Amazon Japan, and note that as...

Re: TSS and EB re-released on Mega Drive Mini 2 in October!

As an update to my comments above about how the Lunars sadly will probably not be on the US version, MD Mini 2 producer Yousuke Okunari commented in a Dengeki interview (https://dengekionline.com/articles/140818/) that the US lineup with be different for the specific reason of rightsholder issues: &...

Re: TSS and EB re-released on Mega Drive Mini 2 in October!

I haven't heard any word or details yet on English language ports, either. Does anyone here know more about that maybe? It is a legitimately interesting question. Sega Japan had the clout and project leader Okunari's insane devotion to cut through various rightsholder issues on a number of tricky t...

TSS and EB re-released on Mega Drive Mini 2 in October!

Friends, it finally happened: Sega's Mega Drive Mini 2 retro console (releasing October 27) has been gradually announcing its 50 (!) title line-up, which includes 20 Mega CD games---this is in and of itself momentous since no Mega CD game has ever had a direct port---not on Wii's Virtual Console lik...

I'm looking forward to more development from that tribute site (a few items up, hopefully more coming)! In the meantime while Alun and I come up with a super-secret-almost-on-time-celebration-plan, here is Lunar-Net offshoot RPGFan's team talking about Lunar music...including really excellent music ...

Re: Lunar 3: Silver Legacy (again)

You might consider using RPGMaker or similar to make a fan game to share. While no professional indie developer seeking to make money will ever, ever work on a series to which they will never get the rights from the rights holder, if you would really just like to share your story with others as a fu...

Right you are about Dyne's grave being the teller! I checked the Lunar I&II Official Design Material Collection, and while it oddly doesn't include the finished version, it does contain the sketch.

Re: Lunar 3: Silver Legacy

Good idea, why not periodically share your story in a new thread in the separate Lunar 3 sub-forum below? That way it sort of joins the collective creative imaginings of a Lunar 3 that others can read in thread form, preserved. You never know who might happen across it or enjoy it!

It's a nice one! I sort of remember seeing this in the old Beep! Mega Drive magazines or similar. Alun, maybe you actually have it in your collection somewhere as a result?
