Re: Lunar eternal blue touch?!
I'm OK with JP voices, though there are a couple of running-from-battle voice clips that I'd miss from EBC.

Re: Back at making fan games..
I, uh, still need to play Shenmue. I think we even went to the trouble of getting a European version so we could import save data to Shenmue II? Does that sound right? Something about one of those two games being released on different consoles in NA so the save data thing didn't work here.

Re: Lunar Silver Star Story Touch playable on AppleTV, coming to Android very soon
It's legit, and I'm looking forward to buying the game again on Android even though I haven't used my tablet in years, because I think I'm still playing the save file that I started when the iOS game first came out and I've felt bad that I'm getting so many years of use from it for one rather low co...

Re: Favorite Dialogue (By Category?)
I'd totally forgotten that. But it's been quite a while since I've seen that scene.
Regarding the mention of Jessica's drooling on her pillow in the post above yours, in Japanese it's Kyle saying that she falls out of bed. So kind of a similar vein.

Re: Lunar's Magic System
I am not very familiar with Magic School but that might be a good place to start with working out how magic is performed. In the Vheen manga, it's explained that the Magic Race (Vile Tribe) can perform magic immediately, without needing spells, because they are somewhat made of magic -- I don't have...

Re: 5 Princes of the Black Star
Ugh, I still need to finish that in English. I didn't really feel that the the Black Star stuff intersected with the idea of Dyne fighting the insane Black Dragon, but there's a book in Damon's spire that says the Four Heroes arose to save Althena from a demigod, after her human form had grown weak....

Re: I emailed SoMoGa
It's the idea that the entire game isn't worth playing because one line was altered. It's an issue I have with fandom in general, not Lunar-specific, and really rubs me the wrong way. It particularly bothers me in this case because SoMoGa has done so much to put in things for longtime fans with the ...

Re: I emailed SoMoGa
They probably were concerned about using trademarked names. I remember TSS explicitly mentioned the trademark in the credits. Seriously, they've put so much work into this release and you're complaining about one word making you not want to play? This is the sort of thing that gives fans a bad name....

Re: The Dragonmaster's Trials
I reviewed all the scripts I had easily to hand, and I would say that you remember the basic ideas but have ascribed them to the wrong games. TSS : There aren't really individual dragon trials other than Quark telling Alex to find his brethren and then return. There are boss battles in the Blue and ...

Re: In defense of Lunar: Legend...
One thing that was toned down in localization was that Mia can be very naive and take things too literally. There are several instances of someone saying something joking or obviously fishy that she responds to seriously, e.g., Jessica's stalker claiming to be her sister. Mia believes her and introd...

Re: In defense of Lunar: Legend...
That is a really interesting point that I'd forgotten about. I really do need to replay the game, not just look at guides and screenshots. I'm not sure that Nash is exactly a coward. He's more aware of the extent of Ghaleon's power than the other characters are, and both idolized him and only knew h...

Re: The events of 500 years before...
Something like that. If I were to try to reconcile all the things I quoted I would say that the bid to conquer the world failed but the banishment didn't happen right away, and it was the descendants of that group who harassed and attacked the humans/beastmen enough that Althena banished them. The r...

Re: The events of 500 years before...
Oh cool, a story question! Unfortunately, it doesn't have a clear-cut answer. (Terminology: SSSC = the PlayStation English version; SSS = the original Japanese Saturn/PSX/PC version; TSS = the SegaCD release; SSH = the PSP release) Let's start with the Vane Library. In SSSC, it says: When our world ...

Re: Nall Plush
Those are interesting ideas, thanks! I'll need to think about where I could put them so there's little sunlight (even indirect has faded some of my stuff over the years), but I live in a house where most of the front wall is windows so that complicates things. My best option might actually be a stai...
