Re: SSST *not* going away soon (title updated!)

Sorry. I don't consider that a personal attack (saying someone's complaining vs calling someone a complainer is the distinction I'd make), but my wording was ill-chosen and I probably was attributing other peoples' sentiments to you. Or simply to "most of it is utter trash and muck" which ...

Re: SSST probably going away soon

They actually have a 64-bit beta that's being sent around to test. I actually missed seeing this in between jay_are's and Shinto-Cetra's complaining, which I scroll past rather quickly. Thanks for the news! jay_are, could you try not to quote giant pics in your replies? We only need to see them onc...

Re: What Would You Like To Learn More Of?

Remember, Gwyn, couldn't even get into the Blue Spire until he went with Hiro, because he didn't have the other Dragon Eye needed to open it. So he probably doesn't know much about its function besides what he observed there. And, of course, in the original SegaCD game, it's revealed that it's also ...

Re: TSS: Save State Hacking, Debug Mode, and Level Data

So, last night I finally looked at the TSS character stats posted above. And... they don't match the ones I recorded. Most of them are off by one -- but not all of them. The EXP amounts are the same. I should note that I recorded stats for most characters from about level 40 to the 90s (I haven't fi...

Re: English script

Thanks for the link! I'll have to ask my husband to work with me on that one, though it looks pretty straightforward. I can almost understand what's going on there but half a college semester of C 25 years ago is not quite enough. :)

Re: What's this song?

I...don't think I've heard that before, though it certainly sounds Lunarian. Unless it's in the background of one of the cutscenes? Seems like the sort of thing that'd go with dragons being awakened or flashbacks about Althena or something. On some of the drama CDs there's music that isn't in the ga...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

I got it now too, thanks! BTW I will say that I rather like having the script in spreadsheet form... It'd make it easier to cross-reference and translate in the long-run. One of my many time-consuming barely-started projects is putting the TSS script into Excel, from the text dump Artemio Urbina did...

My scan of that page of the artbook is actually a bit higher resolution than the image you linked, but I don't have the right software on this computer to extract the page. Will try to get to it this weekend.

On a whim I played through all of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story last weekend, somewhat in preparation for the rerelease of Superstar Saga in October. I just really like that series.

Re: The Great American Eclipse

We weren't able to realistically make plans to see the eclipse, unfortunately, and it was totally overcast at home so I didn't even see the partial. :( However, I did see the 1979 eclipse and remember it being pretty much exactly what you described, so there's that. My parents were in South Dakota f...

Re: Small thing I noticed with the pre-release Lunar TSS shots

Yeah, other things in the same issue already show Luna with blue hair. Interestingly enough, that sketch with the necklace-like trim (that got sort of incorporated into the brown-haired screenshot) isn't in the I+II artbook even as a line sketch, although other earlier versions of her design (withou...

Re: Small thing I noticed with the pre-release Lunar TSS shots

Okay, thanks. Let's try this one, a battle which has Tempest instead of Nash and a dress for Mia that's much more like what Lemia wears. screenshot very random battle.jpg And here's the one I was thinking of with regards to the beginning of this thread. Early colored drawings of Luna and Alex to go ...

Re: Small thing I noticed with the pre-release Lunar TSS shots

Crud, I forgot, though I did finally manage to show Kizyr the scans when we met up at MAGfest. Which, uh, was in January. Hm, looks like brit's pics got lost to a policy change. Well, I can probably guess what those were and replace them. IIRC the file attachment size limit is 256K. Here are a coupl...

Re: Least favorite Lunar 1 or Lunar 2 character

Funny, I recently reread a defense of TSS Luna I wrote here some years ago. I don't have the link to the thread handy (I copied it into a Word doc for reference), but here's some of what I said: I don't recall finding her personality itself particularly deficient. Maybe I just filled in whatever was...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Will do in a bit. Thanks! And thanks for the font explanation. I had just read that there was lower-case in TSS, since you linked TCRF, but hadn't applied it mentally. I forgot to put in a plea for rendering the heroine's name as Elly or Elie rather than Ellie. Both of the shorter ones appear in Jap...

Re: What did you like about the GameCube?

Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. I cannot figure out why this game hasn't been rereleased for handhelds with screens you can actually see. A couple of months ago I had reason to pop it into the Wii and was reminded all over again of how much I loved it. A cute, fun, multiplayer Zelda with perfectly se...

Nah, Kiz, you're totally Slytherin. Just ask Damon, the Ravenclaw Head of House. Fortunately, Jenner is definitely Gryffindor and keeps you on your best side. >_> Wait, what were we talking about again? I'd have to agree with your sorting of Nash, but I still think of him as the TSS version who play...

Re: Fastest Game Time

I once tried SegaCD Borgan at level 26. I was not successful.

(Found someone else's save at the bottom of the Neo-Vane mines. I have no idea how the player got that far. This was on the CDX, too, not emulator.)
