Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

He meant remake as opposed to the SegaCD game. A lot of people referred to the Saturn game as EBR before it was released in the US as EBC.

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

The best pun translation I've noticed is something the befuddled priest in Althena's Shrine says, after talking about putting armor on (and doing it badly). In Japanese, he then says, approximately, "Isn't a shield [tate] what you plant in the spring?" and Nall replies "No, those are ...

Re: TSS: Save State Hacking, Debug Mode, and Level Data

One thing I noticed when I was overlevelling Alex is that you can only get one new spell per level gained. So if Alex's magic doesn't get unlocked until he's at a level at which he would normally get a new spell, he won't get that new spell until the following level, rather than suddenly getting Fla...

Re: New speedrun world record and a request

I will look forward to watching this when I have time -- I verified scaryice's original run for SDA back in the day, though I haven't been involved with the speedrunning community in over a decade (and was never a runner myself). I do suggest that you try sending him a PM here if you haven't already...

Re: Bug: missing NPCs in Magic Guild

Hahaha. I was going to make a thread here asking if anyone had noticed the missing NPCs and then found out I'd made a thread about it seven years ago. :D I can say that I figured out why, more or less -- the NPCs that are present are all ones that are still there when most of Vane is evacuated just ...

Glad you were able to contact Vic and Kelly. I knew both of them waaaay back in the day and have been wondering how they've been doing.

Re: First4Figures Wants to Know: Do You Want Lunar Statues?

Oh, meant to add, regarding the statues, I guess I would've expected Nall or Luna first. I mean, I like Alex, but he's kinda quiet. Though maybe Nall would be included on Alex's shoulder or something.

Re: First4Figures Wants to Know: Do You Want Lunar Statues?

I actually meant to order that Grandia soundtrack (on CD, not vinyl) for my husband and ordered the music box instead. I might still order it on CD. Here's the link to their Iwadare stuff. You'll want to pay attention to "Twelve Doors" -- it has some Lunar tracks on it. (It has not yet shi...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

So, I'm the one working on the text edits for this (which are not yet incorporated into the beta, FYI). In addition to all the points Sonic# raised, there's the consideration that some text editing is necessary simply because of the conversion from a later version of the game to an earlier one. The ...

Re: First4Figures Wants to Know: Do You Want Lunar Statues?

I'm a little surprised at the choice of Alex. Not that I have a problem with him, but that's not who I would expect to start with.

I have no strong feelings in particular on getting figurines or not, but if they were produced I would get one because I get one of every Lunar thing I can find. =)

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I've created a second character in Animal Crossing but it's slowed me down playing at all because now I feel like I have to play as each of them daily (because some things are duplicated for each playable character, like the bottles) and it becomes a chore.

Re: Newly translated interview

Interesting timing; I just discovered those interviews a few months ago myself. Maou and I have talked about getting them (and others I've found) translated and posted, but I've been kind of distracted lately...and also don't currently have access to the scanner at work to deal with some of the pile...

Really? The icon I see for the .exe is just the game logo on black. Same for the setup. That's for the Japanese version; I haven't checked the Korean one.

No, this is about the Japanese TSS OST, as the release date of 4/22/92 should make clear. :)

Re: Japanese Music Credits?

Found a copy of the relavent page from Shiva Indis's Lunar Goods Archive that I saved back in 2005 (!!) that has the info. Not sure about the discrepancy regarding Mizoguchi's first name. Game Music - Lunar: The Silver Star - Toshiba EMI - TOTC-6459 - Released 4/22/92 1. LUNAR Game Music - Lunar: Th...

Re: Japanese Music Credits?

The TSS OST tracklist does list them more specifically, I think. I'll see if I can find some info for you; I have the OST, but don't know enough to transcribe the Japanese names. IIRC, most of the tracks were done by Noriyuki Iwadare, but there were three additional people who composed music for the...

The SegaCD games play quite well on emulator, and you can play from the game discs directly. Though I suppose optical drives are no longer standard in computers.

Re: Saturn vs. PlayStation

"Better" depends on what your criteria are, of course. The Saturn game has much better sound quality, poorer video. The PlayStation game, as with SSS/SSSC, has more bromides and several additional optional dungeons in the epilogue. And, of course, only the PlayStation game was released in ...
