Tabletop gaming

I was reading about the origins of RPGs and how war-themed table top roleplaying influenced the genre. I'm just curious if anybody here used to get together before this pandemic to do some good ol' fashion DnD? Are there any other games people have played and enjoyed? Either western ones like Call o...

Re: Last Anime?

@Shinto-Cetra, idk y but Woodpecker Detective gave me a strong nostalgia pang for the Noir tv series... Agree 100%. While I enjoyed and recommend both of the modern shows I listed, for Granblue in particular I kept thinking, "This is really good, but the animation pales in comparison to the 199...

Re: Least favorite Lunar 1 or Lunar 2 character

I wish I could add Lemia Ausa to this. Something about a corrupted accuser. And she was destroying Vane from the inside out all in the name of the vile tribe...ugh! To be fair, she does a good job of portraying a really nasty type of evil, just like Fake Althenia in Lunar 2. Also I agree with Sonic#...

Re: Netflix Castlevania

Castlevania on netflix is great! I love what a good job they did referencing the games. And there are so many great moments! But I'd have to say the trip to hell was easily one of my favorite scenes

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?

Dude. I just said I didn't care for the line. It was hardly a critique of the entire game or the company as a whole. Things aren't all or nothing, you know? You yourself said that you find some things offensive but you still love the game a whole lot; why would you assume I didn't feel the same? Fo...

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?

Well I liked the game and all of its trite dialogue growing up...probably because it WAS made for children and I WAS a child when I formed these fond memories and mainly because that IS the target audience.

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?

Alunissage I totally respect that, but would it be acceptable to point out that the whole point of the translations by Working Design at that time were simply to make the game culturally relatable to Americans? Can we at least acknowledge that the line was likely not made with bad intent at that tim...

Re: Magical School Lunar, Sega Saturn, My Life in Gaming, and Professor Abrasive

Back in 2008, I purchased Magical School Lunar for $20 off of Ebay, and I got a hold of a Sega Saturn for around $50 (I believe) from Amazon and an Action Replay for $25. I always said I was going to play through it some day while reading an English walkthrough of the game, but out of pure laziness...

Scryed isn't bad either.

!!

Agreed! (Although the original FMA, Trigun, and Death Note were cool to watch once)
