Re: GaijinWorks
Miami Law is out at least, so their first project has hit stores. Published by Hudson though.

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
Xseed did a great job on Retro game challenge, they even translated the fake magazines in the game.
Also, they have a publishing deal with Marvelous, Marvelous published Dragon Song if I recall correctly, through this chain of connections I think it's highly likely Xseed picked it up.

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
As far as I'd heard, it's not actually at the end of its life, is it? I just thought the rumor was that they were moving away from the UMD format and that the next revision of the PSP hardware would mostly rely on digital purchase rather than an actual disc. That's correct, the PSP Go! has a higher...

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
DDan: I don't believe anything was said about the SegaCD translation rights specifically being sold back to GA -- the context was when Legend was being localized and it'd be the SSS translation IF there were a specific game referenced, not TSS. Certainly no mention ever of the voice clips etc. I se...

It's VERYsurprising that they chose PSP considering it's at the end of its life.Sonix wrote:Remember this?

We're unsure. Supposedly it has more backstory thoughSonix wrote:So is this based on TSS or SSSC?
I'd personally prefer EB remake, but I'll be fine with this. I'm just glad Lunar is still alive

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
The last I heard, they didn't have the rights to all of it, just "bits and pieces." Oh, and when are we going to open the new forum? ;) My understanding was Working Designs sold back the Sega CD translation of TSS to Game Arts, this allowed for names, places and other things to be re-used...

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
I'm sure they could, but I'm also sure that at least some of the script will be rewritten. But who knows. Maybe the script will remain the same for all voice acted segments in both version to avoid difficulty and reduce costs. Well, all three different versions of the game so far TSS,SSS and Legend...

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
I noticed this on another forum I visit. I'm quite excited, though I do worry a bit about what will become of the voices if an English release hits our shores. I wouldn't mind changes in the cast since it's pretty much inevitable, but I also really don't want to see the game littered with incredibl...

With headphones.. acceptable.WD RPG WD wrote:I'm not familiar with the PSP, how good is the audio capabilities?
It can produce cd quality audio out. It's nice, UMD gives a lot of space (at the expense of loading time).

Re: Silver Star Story being remade for PSP
I saw this on Kotaku upon arriving at work. It's exciting, I do wonder with the PSP Go! coming out at the end of the year how slim the odds are of this coming stateside (I have huge doubts) but I'm excited nonetheless. Also the new subtitle is "Harmony of the Silver Star" could this be a r...

Re: Grandia Online reannounced, special event in Japan May 20th!
Honestly, it's not even just that. Yeah, it's a time-killer, but I also find them boring. I just don't see the point in spending countless hours building up rank and levels with no real rewards (in the form of a good story and the like). I'd rather play a strategy type game online than a MMORPG. Pu...

Re: I made a gaming tutorial
Removing the tabs can destablize games a little bit causing them to freeze more frequently. Another method is to buy one of those hexnut screw driver heads, take the PCB out of an SFC game, buy a 1.00 sports game at goodwill, a used game store etc and then transfer the SFC PCB into the US cartridge ...

Re: How did you get into gaming?
We had an Atari 2600 (and a generic home pong) when I was a little kid. I didn't really play either that much, they were actually my dads. A neighbor of mine got an NES when I was about 4 or 5 and I liked it. I got one for Christmas that year and that's when I became interested in games after pourin...

Re: Top 10 RPGs
There's surprisingly few mentions for any Dragon Quest besides VIII and Earthbound. In any event to answer the list, I am sticking only with traditional RPGs (no strategy or action RPG variants) 1. Lunar the Silver Star: Sega CD 2. Chrono Trigger: Super Nintendo 3. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Sega CD 4. D...

Re: Selling My Nall Plushie
If you don't mind and your eventual buyer doesn't mind, I'd like to know how that works out, just as a matter of curiosity. Prior to this thread I had probably paid the most for a Nall (which was a gift for someone else!) and while I have no intention of selling either of mine it's interesting to k...

Re: Miami Law is first project from Working Designs founder
If all he/they did was the text localization, it probably wouldn't be. WD did translations for a couple of games published by Hudson (I think?) back in the day and I'm sure that, well, Hudson was the publisher, not WD. Yep, Dungeon Explorer II. I think the other games they worked on wound up not be...
