Re: I emailed SoMoGa

They probably were concerned about using trademarked names. I remember TSS explicitly mentioned the trademark in the credits. Seriously, they've put so much work into this release and you're complaining about one word making you not want to play? This is the sort of thing that gives fans a bad name...

Re: I emailed SoMoGa

So this'd explain the sort of composite feeling SSST has from looking at it; They couldn't get the original audio, so they combined Silver Star Story's visuals with the newer script and voices of Silver Star Harmony The voices are from the XSEED PSP remake, but the script is taken mostly from the W...

I emailed SoMoGa

I emailed SoMoGa awhile ago, asking about why there was no option to use the 1999 dub for Lunar SSST, why the FMV colors looks washed out compared to the Windows 9x version of SSS, and why the Wheaties jokes was edited out in the beginning. They answered the first two:

Re: Ghaleon's Eye

I think its just a scar from the battle with Alex and company in the previous game. I second this. Decomposition is also plausible, but I have no idea why transformation would scar him. His scar in EB (any version) doesn't look like his TSS demon form. The colors and textures are different (cracked...

Re: Feature request: emoji reacts to posts

It's a good suggestion, and certainly something newer platforms like Discord have. I'm not sure emoji reacts are available in phpBB, but I frankly also don't know much about the back end. So I know next to nothing about phpBB, but a quick DuckDuckGo search found this: https://www.phpbb.com/communit...

Feature request: emoji reacts to posts

So many times I've wanted to chime in on a topic, but don't have something to say other than more or less "That's really cool", or "I see" (the latter when someone comments on something I've posted), so I don't say anything. Having emoji reacts to posts would make this a lot easi...

Onihei, it's like a cop drama set in the Edo preiod (1603-1868), that *kinda sorta* romantacizes theivery, while also presentng the law enforcement's point of view.

Re: Crypto currency

I was rewatching scenes from the so-bad-it's-good live action Street Fighter movie (except Raul Julia as M. Bison, who was actually good), and I realized: Bison dollars were a proto-Cryptocurrency: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Shxiy7l5b_4 I'm pretty sure economics doesn't work like how Bison desc...

Re: Modding potential on Apple Silicon Macs

Im not sure if its the issue, but does your resolution and new frame rate match the resolution and frame rate of the original sss touch video? The saturn version is finicky about that, and since this shares source code it may be as well. That would explain the video advancing at an odd rate. Id ima...

Modding potential on Apple Silicon Macs

I currently only have an Intel Mac, but was curious if Lunar SSST could be modded on an Apple Silicon Mac. iOS apps can can function normally on Apple Silicon Macs due to both using ARM chips. MacOS is still more customizable than other Apple OSes, etc, so you can natively (ie without any unsupporte...

Re: Last Anime?

Otaku Elf: It's a mix of nerd humor with many references to the Edo period. Basically the MCs are a blonde fantasy elf who has been worshipped as the goddess of a Shinto shrine since the Edo period (and a mega-nerd), and her miko, who's *somewhat* more normal, though kind of obessed with being styl...

The Grindery is better than the Death Star

How many planet-destroying superweapons has the Galactic Empire from Star Wars built? -Death Star I: Blown up in a chain reaction by the rebels firing proton torpedoes into a thermal exhaust port in Episode IV. I guess it was such a 1 in a million chance that I can see it being overlooked. -Death St...

Re: Lunar 2 Japanese dub is SO much better.

I forgot to mention this before, but if we're comparing singing voices (Lucia's Theme that plays in the credits, Jenny Stigle vs Chisa Yokoyama), I'd rank it as follows: English PS1>Japanese(I believe there's only one recording)=English SCD. I think Jenny adds slightly more emotion in the PS1 versio...
