Re: Finally finished this, mini-review/comparison
Borgan's difficulty was pretty legendary. Main things that helped were: (1) having leveled up just enough to get an upgrade to Ronfar's all-heal spell (can't remember offhand which one though) (2) equipping an accessory on each character to lower damage from earth/thunder attacks (can buy in Neo-Va...

Re: Finally finished this, mini-review/comparison
I've only beat Eternal Blue on the Sega CD once back in the day when I bought it (it's the one LUNAR title I have that I'm most disappointed in, in that the only copy I could source was a FuncoLand copy that was just the disk). I remember the absolute worst point of the game for me was Borgan withou...

Re: Playstation Classic Edition!
In terms of it being "classic" Playstation titles I feel the list is okay although it's not anything that would warrant me buying it. I still have most of those titles regardless. The most surprising on the list for myself personally is Revelations Persona, although I'm certain the reason ...

Re: Playstation 1/2 HDMI adapter
Thanks for posting this. My PS2 doesn't connect to any of the modern TVs I have in my house and my old CRT I do have is something I don't like to clunk around. I also have like over a hundred PS2 titles still including a ton of Japanese imports so this gives me a chance to dust them off and get back...

Re: Selling consoles and games
I don't know if you still can with eBay but I know some years back you used to be able to perform a search where you could see how much recent items sold for. Example if you searched "LUNAR Silver Star" you could click "recently sold" and you would get listings that showed relate...

Re: An anomaly in the Lunar series
Alex: "I WON'T GIVE UP! THIS IS NOT OUR FUTURE." Insert- other dialogue I've forgotten word-for-word about believing in oneself and humanity. >Alex and Luna leave Goddess tower. Tower epic-aly explodes behind them not leaving a single trace of destruction on the ground. [Later reappears in...

Re: An anomaly in the Lunar series
On the less is more topic the biggest gripe I had in the US release (I believe it's similar in JP) of TSS is that sans some ellipses and a few lines of dialogue Alex for the most part is a silent protagonist. There is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with a silent protagonist because in many case...

Re: Questions regarding the series
Noriyuki Iwadare was the lead composer for all the LUNAR games (along with LUNAR he has a very, VERY long list of works he's done). Pixelated Audio interviewed Iwadare last year regarding the music used in LUNAR. https://pixelatedaudio.com/lunar/ Years ago in 2003 he was interviewed for LUNAR-Net an...

Re: Last Anime?
I still have my VHS copy of Perfect Blue. When it originally came to the US Manga Entertainment published it alongside some other hyped movies they published like X. That was a good time period for anime as a lot of anime movies were shown in select theaters (Ghost in the Shell, X, etc). I have the ...

Re: Langrisser remakes
Sans some ROMs I've dabbled in I've never really got the chance to enjoy Langrisser so I'm pretty excited for this when I heard a PS4 remake was coming. That comparison of Urushihara's to Ryou Nagi's designs makes me realize why I enjoy Urushihara so much. Any arguments against the practicality of t...

Re: I have 23 gaming consoles now....lol
I have the room for all my games and consoles now but I'm not as in-tuned into displaying them all in the gaming den as I probably could be. I think a lot of it too is I simply don't play the old stuff as much anymore. As example I have a '78 four switch model Atari 2600 but how many times am I real...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Edit: AkagisWhiteComet, where did yo get this glitch in-game? I'm hoping I've passed it, I've played 23 hours so far. It's been well over a decade since I played it but if memory serves me right it was during some sort of recollection scene involving the MC's familiar character narrating on a blank...

Hajime Sato's Storyboards
Hajime Sato has a lot of credits for Game Arts titles to his name, including roles for the various iterations of the LUNAR games. In particular he was the Scenario Storyboard artist for LUNAR Silver Star Story. If you have flipped through the instruction manual or the now-difficult-to-find strategy ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
I hate I never finished Grandia II. I bought it on the PC when it had a price drop, and my copy had a strange bug some hours into the game where it wouldn't advance a text box during a black screen recollection scene. I never could get the issue resolved and thus did not play it any further. A shame...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
I had to file a warranty claim for my Logitech G29 racing wheel setup. It took around three weeks to get resolved. Logitech is a strange company to deal regarding warranty claims with but they came through enough to send me an entirely new setup which is good for me as it cost $260. Since I got the ...

Re: Lunar Genesis Strategy Guide Get!
I'd be interested if any unique artwork or assets were used for the text. We don't seem to come across a lot of art assets of LUNAR Genesis/Dragon Song sans cover and character guides.

Re: Lunar fan game...
My opinion, I believe 'range' as an aspect is important in RPGs, and out of most of the various RPG aspects that have developed and evolved it's one that often seems to go through a lot of concepts and iterations. Even the Final Fantasy series has had a range aspect starting with IIRC IV (II) where ...

Re: Last Anime?
Bit of a rant but I recently got on a binge and watched Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory. I’ve seen the previous seasons of FMP, even Fumoffu which I loved (considering the opening is like my favorite anime opening lol) and literally everything just got turned up to 11. And I love it. I think a ...

Re: Differences between Sega and PS1 Versions
Ha! Yeah probably not the best choice of words. I can elaborate on that. She lost some of her head strong-ness at that scene. Sans a few moments with Alex everything leading up to the Luna/Ghaleon meeting in SSSC shows a really high strung Luna. She has a lot to say, often accompanying a lot of snap...
